The fatal Midwest heat wave has claimed 24 deaths so far and shows no signs of relenting. The drought in the Middle Atlantic and southern U.S. is destroying crops as rainfalls 15 inches below normal are recorded in some areas. A Meteorologist with the Department of Agriculture indicated that it is as dry as its been since the dust bowel of the 1930s. Farmers have begun selling off their herds due to lack of water and feed.

In California and Montana firefighters are battling to contain wild fires which have so far burned 17,000 acres in California and 33,000 acres in Montana.

And yet, at the same time, record storms swept through Arizona drenching the Grand Canyon with 3.12 inches of rain . In Las Vegas, the storm turned the city into a raging river leaving a wide strip of devastation as the torrent overturned cars and flooded part of the interstate. In other parts of California, monsoon-like rains flooded roadways and fields in the southern parts of the state. Baseball sized hail stripped branches from trees, smashed cars, broke windows and injured dozens of people as severe thunderstorms battered the central Plains and Gulf coast.

Prophetic Significance:
