THE CULTURE OF DEATH

This is a long article, but it may be one of the most important articles you will ever read -- not because of the content, or because I compiled it, but because of the call of the Lord that is going forth: "Who knows if you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" At the end of this article, you will be given the opportunity to join an army of Christians that are being raised up to wage war in the heavenlies against the holocaust of the innocents. I would ask you to also pass this article on to those whom you believe may have a call to pray and intercede for the unborn. It is time for the army of God to mobilize.

The banner on the front Page of the April 20-22 edition of the USA Today reads as follows: "FOR BUSH, ABORTION NOT POLICY PRIORITY".

During George W. Bush's campaign, he stated that he opposed abortion and pledged to promote a "culture of life." On his first day in office, he issued executive orders eliminating funding for overseas organizations that do abortion counseling.

Is this as far as President Bush can go toward establishing a "culture of life?" White House aides indicated in the USA Today article that President Bush does not want his current term mired in controversy; nor does he wish to jeopardize his chances for re-election by launching a crusade to outlaw abortion.

White House Chief of Staff Andy Card was quoted as saying: "I don't believe President Bush feels that he'll be able to stop abortions." He went on to say, when asked where abortion ranked on Bush's list of priorities, that it was not even on the list -- although it was a high "moral" priority for the President. Indeed! Unfortunately, this position is supported by President Bush's record as governor of Texas where he spoke in moral terms, but did little to restrict abortion -- other than to sign a law that parents must be notified before a minor has one.

On January 27, 2001, President Bush did cut off U.S. funds to overseas groups that support abortion and has announced his intent to keep another promise he made during last year's campaign by seeking a ban on so-called "partial-birth" abortions. This "procedure" is barbaric. Even some supporters of legal abortion have described the procedure as legalized infanticide and want it outlawed.

Jim Bramlett (http://www.geocities.com/bramlett2000) speculates that President Bush "will do everything possible about abortion in the realm of political reality, gradually, and as opportunities arise." Jim feels that President Bush "may just being as wise as a serpent and innocent as a dove as he takes on moral issues in that wicked city -- to make as much headway as possible, over time, without losing support for that and everything else with a collision approach."

This may be the approach that our President is taking, however, if we will not pray and wage war in the heavenlies, our new President may find himself helpless to effect additional change.

As a sad commentary the moral state of our country, republican political consultant Rich Bond says Bush will not seek strong abortion restrictions because there is neither a national consensus nor an effective political bloc to help him push them through Congress. Bond went on to say that it was more likely that Bush would only "nibble" around the abortion issue because, to achieve public policy, you have to have adequate political space and that polls show that most Americans do not want a return to the time when abortion was illegal. What an indictment against America, where a so-called majority of the people consider themselves to be "Christians"!

"Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Rev 2:5)

It has been over thirty years, prior to the Roe/Wade abortion since the nation and the collective church of Jesus Christ stood for the rights of the unborn -- the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The above scripture is a warning from Jesus Christ to His church -- that if we will not repent and do the things we did at first that Jesus himself will remove our lampstand from its place.

President Bush is the new leader of this country who, only in response to a massive national prayer effort, was elected by the smallest of margins. After the election, how many of us continued to pray for President Bush, who is under tremendous political pressure? How many of us put our hopes in President Bush's ability to outlaw abortion, and not in Jesus Christ?

When President Bush was falling behind in the polls and it looked like leadership would continue to go from bad to worse, it was a grass-roots national prayer movement organized by Pastor Dutch Sheets that turned the tide. But in the aftermath of that victory, there was fear and trepidation that Bush's grasp on victory seemed to be slipping away on hanging chads and dimpled ballots. The final results of the election clearly could have gone either way. It was almost as if God was saying that the fate of America could go either way, so delicately balanced were the scales of justice in God's hand. On the one side of the balance is the blood of 45 million aborted children; on the other side is the Genesis 12:3 blessing contingent on America's continued support of Israel.

Then, finally, it was over and Bush was declared the winner. Was it clever political maneuvering that secured his victory? Let's examine how it was that George W. Bush was finally elected.

"Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding." (Daniel 2:20-21)

It is God himself who determines who will be the leader of a nation. We vote, but the choice of leadership is the Lord's. He gives us the leader we deserve. As God's people we are instructed to pray, not only for each other, but specifically for our leaders:

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men - the testimony given in its proper time. And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle - I am telling the truth, I am not lying - and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles. I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing." (1 Tim 2:1-8)

 

God has given us a leader that has potential in Christ, but if we will not pray for our President with holy hands, he will not be able to effect Godly changes in the rule of law that has put in place a culture of death. If we will not "do the things you did at first," the lampstand of the American church will be removed. And without national repentance, we may well face increasing judgements and possibly ultimate destruction.

One of the "first works" all believers do is pray and spend time with their new friend Jesus Christ.

"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit -fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." (John 15:15-16)

But now the enemy has stolen that intimacy and replaced it with the cares of this world. America, established on religious freedom, was a praying nation and as the prayers of America ascended before the throne of God as a pleasing aroma in His nostrils, He has blessed us as no other nation on earth. But today that time of intimacy with the Lord in prayer has been replaced by television, mom's taxi service, two jobs, sports, playing church, etc. As America has slipped into prayerlessness, the enemy has made great strides against this once-great bastion of Christianity.

My Church, My Church, how I have sorrowed over you, how I have longed to take you under My wing. Where in you, My Church, do I behold the life that I have given you? Where do I see in you the resurrection power? I have sent you forth to change the world, but the world has changed you. Day by day, you yield up precious ground. Are you unaware that the ground you yield is blood-stained? I heard you, day by day, calling out to Me. You say, "Empower us, Lord," and I empower you. You say, "Fill us with your Spirit, Lord," and I fill you. And then I say to you, "Move now -- My renewed, empowered and filled church." And you say, "Renew us, Lord, empower us, Lord, fill us with your Spirit, Lord" Is my church never to understand? A call to battle can never be a time of inaction for waiting. While you wait, the enemy advances. He is filling your trenches, he is advancing on the last bastions of your position, and yet you wait. Now I hear you calling once again. You say, "Give us Revival, Lord." I will. Revival is coming. Revival is near. Revival is rising up before you. Do you see it? No, you do not see it. But, I tell you it is there to be seen. How then are you to see it? You will see it when you begin to march. Blow the trumpet, raise the cry. Around the city of the enemy you must go. Let my Church lead off. This is the call to battle. Circle round the positions of the enemy. Hem him in. Act in courage. Do not falter. Blow the horns. Then I will see the church that is sprung forth from me -- My church -- My people -- and I will revive you.

The above word was given several years ago, but is more relevant today then ever before. It became known as the Anaheim Prophecy. Truly, as a result of the church's failure to pray and wage spiritual warfare, the Culture of Death has been well established in the earth with the blood of approximately 45 million innocents in the United States alone having been spilt. Do not be deceived! God is not mocked! He will demand an accounting for the blood of the unborn which is crying out from the ground. The Bible is clear -- "The Life is in the Blood" (Lev 17:11):

" Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" And he said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?" And He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground. "So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. (Gen 4:8-11)

In this account, the blood of Abel cried out to God and the result of that spilt blood was a curse. Today the blood of 45 million is crying out for vengeance (vengeance is the Lord's alone). The life is in the blood -- and a curse has resulted (See Deut 28). The final outworking of that curse, unless it is broken, will be destruction.

"Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man's brother I will require the life of man. "Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man." (Gen 9:5-6)

The book of Ezekiel tells us that God brought judgment upon the Jews, destroyed their land, and dispersed them to the four corners of the earth because, among other sins, they had spilt blood in the land. Is America exempt from a God who changes not? We have now sacrificed the blood of over 45 million unborn children in this country. Will God not judge us likewise?

Our God is a righteous God, and his judgements are perfect. The scales of justice are in His hand. We have sown to the wind, and we will eventually reap the whirlwind. Do not be deceived! The Bible reveals that God is not slack concerning sin but rather is long-suffering, not willing that any should perish -- but the day of reckoning is growing near. For those who have eyes to see, America has closely followed the Biblical pattern of judgement. God has been warning us with increasing natural disasters: "Water has been added to the wine" (the value of our exports has gone down); "Dross has been added to the silver" (our money has been devalued); there is draught and flood in the country at the same time (current flooding in the Mid-West and draught in Florida); leadership has gone from bad to worse (with the current President there will hopefully, as a result of CONTINUED fervent intercessory prayer, be a change -- IF we continue to pray for our leadership). Finally, as outlined in the series entitled "What in Heaven is happening to America?" (http://prophecyandcurrentevents.com/thglory/america1.htm) the final step in judgement could be destruction -- although this is not God's heart for America. Will America repent before she is ultimately destroyed? Is it too late for America?

It is my opinion that America is on borrowed time and that it may only be the Genesis 12:3 blessing on a nation that blesses Israel, coupled with the prayers of faithful intercessors, that has restrained the hand of God from bringing final judgement on our nation. Unfortunately, we also know that, according to Zechariah 12:3, America will in time turn on Israel.

"And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it."

But will the scales of justice tip before that? Let's consider the technological breakthroughs that have now enabled us to kill the unborn with the convenience of a pill.

This article, by Dr. Tom Baker, speaks on just how effective we have in fact gotten in killing the unborn through the "early pill" option -- aka RU486 or Mifeprex:

The Early Option Pill Dr. Baker writes: The web site for the Danco Laboratories boasts the following: "It’s what women have wanted for years: a safe, effective and innovative way to end pregnancy-taken orally, without surgery-early on." Danco, who holds the US marketing rights, further declares it to be "a more private option. With Mifeprex, the wait is over!" The actual supplier of RU-486 or Mifepristone to the US market is the Hua Lian Pharmaceutical Co., a factory in Shanghai, China. Never mind that the FDA is not able to monitor the quality of the drug and that China is a major source of impure drugs, there is very big money to be made. And of course hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of early pregnancies are to be "ended", as they put it. The Population Council holds the US patent for Mifepristone and was the US sponsor of the new drug application to the FDA. "Mifeprex" had been used by over 620,000 women in Europe to "end" pregnancy. Roussel Uclaf, a French pharmaceutical research company, first synthesized Mifepristone in 1980, looking for an antiglucocorticoid. They noted that the compound also fits progesterone receptors and terminated early pregnancy. After applications, trials and much red tape, trials began in several European countries and in 1983 in the US at the University of Southern California. It was determined that it worked much better when followed in one or two days with a prostaglandin (Misoprostol). A major boost was given by President Clinton in January, 1993, when he directed the Health & Human Services to "promote the testing, licensing and manufacture of the drug (Mifepristone) in the US." The US trial was completed in September 1995 after 2,121 American women had ended their pregnancies. To make a long story shorter, after more applications, data, discussions and red tape the goal was reached. On 28 September, 2000, the FDA approved the use of RU-486 in the US. Promoted by Danco as "the early option pill", Mifeprex 200mgm oral tablet (Mifepristone) not only blocks the activity of progesterone cold, but also sensitizes the muscle of the uterus to the contraction inducing activity of prostaglandins (such as Misoprostol).It can be used up to the 49th day, counting the first day of the last menstrual period as "day one". This means that when a woman misses her period, she can use a home pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy, swallow a pill and the next day use another pill either orally or vaginally at home. Easy, private, convenient. But is it safe? Yes, I feel it is very safe. In my opinion the pro-life spokesmen are making a mistake when they try to dissuade women from using Mifeprex because it is dangerous. Intelligent women are not going to be influenced by those scare tactics. There are some complications, but pregnancy itself is risky. It is not the small risk of Mifeprex compared to zero risk if they don’t use it and continue with their pregnancy. Women sometimes have serious complications from pregnancy itself and in some cases may even die. So lets be honest about this: Mifeprex really is a safe, convenient way to kill your baby -- the earlier the better. These studies were done on healthy, low risk, women. There are certain contraindications to the use of the drug. The risk in certain medical conditions is unknown, because these were all healthy subjects and healthy pregnancies. You must have access to emergency care because about 1 in 900 women will bleed heavily, requiring transfusion. About 1 in 100 women will require a surgical aspiration currettage. Bleeding and cramping are expected in all cases, so pain medication is given. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and headache are common. But the baby is a headache, also, right? Did you know our tax money is paying for much of this business through HHS, Planned Parenthood, etc? Another major source of funding for the Population Council is the David & Lucille Packard Foundation of Los Altos, CA ,with assets of thirteen billion dollars. In July of this year, the Packard Foundation began a major push for population control through "PLANet". That name has ominous overtones, doesn’t it? Of course when the money from the patent rights comes rolling in, the Population Council will be sitting pretty. The October 18th, 2000, Journal of the American Medical Association featured a major article on the use of Mifepristone followed by Misoprostol for early medical abortion. A total of 2295 women from sixteen facilities were studied. Complete medical abortion rates were 98%, no transfusions were required, 51 required aspiration curettage, 4 were treated for infection, 5 were dehydrated (hypovolemic) from nausea or heavy bleeding and given IV fluids. That is a safe procedure, considering there were 2295 women taking the drugs. "The Early Option Pill" really is going to be a popular option for ending early pregnancy. And it will get better, safer and more widespread as time goes by, because there is big money to be made. Pandora’s box has been opened and the "cat is out of the bag". We need to begin stressing that life begins at conception. This is not just a clump of cells, but a person in God’s eyes, with the instructions already encoded in his or her DNA to develop fully human. Tom Baker MD, FACOG, DABOG retired

As Dr. Baker concluded: "Life begins at conception." This is a fact, but God tells us that "before I formed you in the womb I knew you." It is God's plan for each child to come to full gestation. There is an interesting Biblical parallel between the human gestation cycle and the pattern of the Biblical feasts as recorded in God's word, underscoring God's plan for full gestation. As outlined in an article entitled "ABORTION, BAAL WORSHIP AND BREAST CANCER," by Tom Horn, this pattern is identified.

Tom writes:

"The Bible makes it clear that every child is a gift from God. A surprising discovery recently revealed that the Biblical feasts parallel the gestation period of a baby. It seems, once again, the Almighty hid within His Word proof of divine inspiration and a token of His love for children. FEASTS: In Exodus, chapter 12, we find the Passover feast instituted. It was to begin on the fourteenth day of the first month and repeat each year thereafter. During Passover the Jews place an egg, symbolizing new life, on the Passover table. MEDICAL FACT: On the fourteenth day of the first month the mother's egg appears. FEASTS: The feast of Unleavened Bread must occur the very next night, on the 15th day of the month, or the feast process will fail. MEDICAL FACT: Fertilization of the egg must occur within 24 hours or the fertilization process will probably fail. FEASTS: The Feast of Firstfruits occurs next, on the Sunday during the week of Unleavened Bread. It can be from 2-6 days after the feast of Unleavened Bread and is called the Spring Planting of Seed. MEDICAL FACT: The fertilized egg travels down the tube at its own pace taking anywhere from 2-6 days before it implants. This is the Planting of the Egg. FEASTS: Pentecost comes 50 days later and, in evangelical circles, celebrates the forming of the Church by the Holy Spirit. MEDICAL FACT: On the fiftieth day, the embryo begins to form into a human fetus. FEASTS: The Day of Atonement is celebrated on the tenth day of the seventh month. Blood is taken into the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle. MEDICAL FACT: On the tenth day of the seventh month the production of red blood cells is taken over by the bone marrow, the inner sanctum of the baby's tabernacle." FEASTS: The Feast of Tabernacles follows on the 15th day of the seventh month. Jews celebrate God breathing the breath of life into Adam and 80 days later is the Feast of Dedication. MEDICAL FACT: By the 15th day of the seventh month, the child is capable of breathing air. He or she is a developed "tabernacle" and can be born. However, to achieve maximum strength the child should continue to grow inside its mother for another 80 days. It can thereafter be born (and dedicated to the Lord).

Clearly God's hand is on every human being from BEFORE conception, throughout the entire process of birth, throughout all our days on earth and on into eternity.

"Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts which are toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered." (Psa 40:5)

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jer 29:11)

The Lord has a hope and a future for each one of us, but through abortion these plans have been thwarted by the enemy. And now through technology, the destruction of the innocents can be quick, convenient, and effective.

RU-486 is indeed effective. On Apr 1, 2001, lifesite.net reported that Dr. Isabel Rodrigues, a professor of family medicine at the University of Montreal, led a research team which found that abortifacient "morning-after" pills work even 5 days after sexual intercourse. The team found that the drugs were 90% "effective" if taken within three days of intercourse but still 87% "effective" after 3-5 days. (Reuters reported that the study is published in the March issue of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and was funded by the Federation des Medecins Omnipracticiens du Quebec).

The voices against abortion are not silent, but the battle will not be won in the physical realm.

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Eph 6:12)

The Bible makes it clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against wicked spiritual forces in heavenly places.

The battle can be won -- and you can play a role. This shall be discussed a little later in this article. The pressure of the "Right to Life" groups has had an impact on abortion providers. It was reported by Religion Today on January 5, 2001 that the number of abortions has declined by 17.4% in seven years while the number of clinics in major cities has not changed. Now that abortion clinics have the new RU-486 to compete with, they are conducting price wars and competing among themselves by offering amenities. For example, the same article reported that a clinic in Detroit created a spa-like atmosphere at its offices, with low light and candles. Murder by candlelight -- the height from which we have fallen!

We cannot be silent against this holocaust of the unborn. And the voices are crying out.

He imparted to them the urgent need to defend life: "Notwithstanding your tireless dedication," the Pope said, "even in your country we note worrisome data which marks in many countries of the old continent the spread of an ever more preoccupying culture of death." He noted that the abortion statistics in the country were "alarming" and said "they must incite you to defend without fear and with clarity human life in every phase of its existence, from conception to natural death." He urged the bishops to "Do everything possible to encourage pregnant women to complete their pregnancy." Pastors, he added, "must be ready to speak on every occasion, opportune or not."

On April 1,2001, Archbishop Renato R. Martino, the Vatican's ambassador to the United Nations, made the following revealing remarks about his dealings with the international institution during his March 25 homily celebrating the Day of the Unborn. "As Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations for the last fifteen years, I have had the honor to represent the Catholic Church in the work of the United Nations Organization," explained the Archbishop. He said in various UN conferences, "I have seen first-hand how pro-abortion groups attempt to impose their death-dealing agenda on the Family of Nations."

Archbishop Martino warned: "Make no mistake about it, there are powerful groups throughout the world lobbying to make abortion a human right, to destroy the cherished institution of the family, to dissolve the rights, duties and responsibilities of parents, and to portray motherhood as an outdated and oppressive vocation, as well as pregnancy as a disturbing sickness." He went on to note that "each year, throughout the world, there are 45 million abortions." God help us!!!

How are such outspoken critics of abortion treated? As incredulous as it seems, Canada's Globe & Mail, a Canadian national newspaper, has been running a new series of ads that portray pro-life opinions as being equivalent to racism, holocaust denial, and support of child pornography. According to lifesite.com, three ads the Globe & Mail is currently running on TV in Toronto have the tag-line: "Everyone has an opinion, but is it informed?" They show a series of people voicing opinions, many of them bizarre and provocative. In the ads, one woman says, "All white people are racists"; a man says that viewing child porn is ok; another man says "The Holocaust? Never happened". However, slipped into the middle of these horrible statements, a woman is shown saying, "Abortion is murder". The apparent intent is to imply that pro-life opinions are on a par with racism, hatred and support of child porn.

ISA 5:20-25 "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent. Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the LORD Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." Therefore the LORD'S anger burns against his people; his hand is raised and he strikes them down. The mountains shake, and the dead bodies are like refuse in the streets. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away, his hand is still upraised."

In case you think the reduction in the abortion rate is significant, be advised that more medical schools are training more doctors to perform abortions than ever before. LifeSite.net, quoting a November/December issue of Family Planning Perspectives by the National Abortion Federation (NAF), noted that there has been an enormous increase in the last six years in the number of US medical schools training students to abort babies. While a 1992 study found 12% of OB-GYN residency programs offering such training, the NAF study reports that 46% per cent (nearly a four-fold increase) routinely offer training in first-trimester abortions, and 34% offer it as an elective. Routine second-trimester abortion training increased even more dramatically, from 7% in 1992 to 44% in 1998. Weekend News Today, quoted a UAA Today report that in a new study, about a quarter of programs said all of their residents receive abortion training; 40% said that fewer than half are trained. Of those reporting, 14% said they train no residents. The study questioned all 261 accredited US OB-GYN residency programs; 179 responded.

It is no wonder. Abortion is now big business. Have you heard of fetal tissue research? Sounds benign does it not? It is also put forth as offering hope where there seems no hope. For example, scientists are now promoting fetal tissue research by promising that stem cells could lead to revolutionary treatments for problems ranging from Alzheimer's to paralyzing spinal cord injuries. There is a problem, however; stem cells come from aborted fetuses or from embryos left over from fertility clinics -- although a few can be found in adult tissues, scientists say fetal and embryonic stem cells are the most flexible and thus most usable.

Some of the so-called research is being conducted by the National Institutes of Health. Terence P. Jeffrey of Human Events details the mass production of mouse-human chimeras for research into AIDS. Jeffrey writes, "Every one of these most peculiar rodents requires live tissue extracted from the liver and thymus of a human child, and every child who donates tissue to create such mice is first killed by a medical doctor. They are victims of abortions that cannot take place until at least the eighth week of pregnancy, when the fetal liver is finally formed." President Bush said that federal money should not be used for such research, but todate this research has not been halted. Nor will just eliminating federal money stop it, but it would be a start.

Lifesite reported that last year the University of Nebraska was one of the first US institutions exposed for using aborted baby parts in research for Alzheimer's, using brain cells from aborted babies. The baby brains purportedly came to the university courtesy of abortionist LeRoy H. Carhart, who was connected to the Supreme Court decision favoring partial-birth abortions.

On March 9, 2001 FoxNews.com reported: "A new study reveals that what was once touted as a possible miracle treatment for Parkinson's disease is not only troubling to many on moral grounds, but leads to side effects that some doctors are calling ‘absolutely devastating.’ The report quoted a New England Journal of Medicine article that Parkinson's patients experienced little relief when they took part in a controversial experimental treatment. Fetal tissue cells — obtained from abortion clinics — were transplanted into the brains of Parkinson's patients. Researchers reported that 15 percent of the patients experienced serious side effects that one doctor called ‘catastrophic’ and ‘a real nightmare.’ According to Dr. Paul E. Greene, a neurologist at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, ‘[The patients] chew constantly, their fingers go up and down, their wrists flex and distend.’ Patients ‘also writhe and twist, jerk their heads, fling their arms about.’ But, as incredible as it sounds, despite the disappointing results, Parkinson's patients are still paying private doctors thousands of dollars to perform fetal cell implants.

Let's consider the deception Satan has put forward to justify the murder of the innocents. The argument would go something like this: Alzheimer's and Parkinson's are terrible diseases. Would it not be inhumane not to cure this disease? These are just embryos, fetal tissue -- not life -- and after all, their parents did not want them anyway. Since they are now dead, should we not use them for good? This sounds very altruistic to rationalistic man. Unfortunately, it is dead wrong! It is murder and will, if repentance is not forthcoming, lead to eternal death in the lake of fire.

REV 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars - their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

In Revelation, chapter 9, as God continues to pour out judgements on unrepentant mankind, we hear God's heart cry. Note the repentance that God desires:

REV 9:18-21 "A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths…… The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood -idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Sexual immorality? Murder? The occult (magic arts)? The worship of money and other demonic-inspired idolatry? Does this not describe the work of America's hands? Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. We will eventually reap a harvest of judgement.

Student morals are often reflective of the decline of a nation. They are now demanding their schools stock the recently-approved abortion pill known as RU-486, promising protests if they do not.

So far, pro-abortion and anti-abortion groups indicate that Yale University is the only college to publicly promise to provide the drug. Colleges and universities, which loathe to rankle prospective donors, have warily greeted RU-486, which was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in September and first released on the market in November. Unlike pregnancy-prevention drugs such as birth-control, Mifepristone (RU-486) is a pregnancy-terminating drug. "We understand this may be a controversial decision,'' said Gila Reinstein, a spokeswoman for Yale, which already provides students with surgical abortions. "But this is our decision. We are going to provide the full complement of OB-GYN services to our students.''

Let's not rankle donors; after all, this is just business -- and business is about making money.

" The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood -idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts. (REV 9:18-21)

Such moral decline and spiritual blindness is not just an American phenomenon. For example, the world's first legal homosexual marriages were set to take place on April 1^st. Dutch laws now allow marriage and adoption for homosexual couples. Four homosexual couples were set to be "married" at midnight March 31- April 1. Officiating at the ceremonies in City Hall was Amsterdam Mayor Job Cohen, who was responsible for the pro-homosexual marriage legislation.

On Sunday, April 1, 2001 lifenet reported that the pro-abortion activist government of British Columbia introduced three pro-abortion bills restricting information on abortion, mandated hospitals to commit abortions and giving pharmacists the right to prescribe abortifacient morning-after pills. In fact, the bills named 34 hospitals in the province and mandated that they provide abortion services.

The London Telegraph reported: "Girls as young as 11 will be able to obtain the morning-after pill from school nurses without their parents' permission in a move aimed at reducing teenage pregnancies. The so-called "emergency contraceptive pill will be dispensed to pupils by nurses in state schools. Parents will be informed if the pill is available at the school, but because of confidentiality rules, will not be told if their daughter receives it. Critics claim the initiative, which is being piloted in areas with high rates of teenage pregnancy, will undermine parents and encourage promiscuity among under-age school children..."

Indeed!

We haven't seen anything yet. Patrick Fagan, a research Fellow in Family and Cultural Issues at the Heritage Foundation published a critique of the United Nations' policies impacting families, religion, and national sovereignty. He indicated that the U.N. committees, "working often with radical special-interest groups, advise nations to alter the very structure of their societies to decrease the emphasis on marriage, the nuclear family, parental authority, and religious beliefs; mothers are encouraged to find fulfillment by leaving their children in the care of strangers and entering the workforce, and social or legal restraints on sexual activity among adolescents are targeted for removal."

Fagan demonstrates that United Nations' treaties frequently undermine the sovereignty of nations and parental rights. The U.N., for example, has urged the passage of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, a treaty that will usurp parental rights and internationalize the "rights of children" over the rights of parents. U.N. policy advisors have urged the legalization of prostitution and homosexuality and have lobbied for widespread abortion on demand in Third World nations.

Clearly, the enemy (Satan) has a plan and is executing it flawlessly while Christians, appearing powerless to prevail, just sit back and remark: "How Awful." Some Christians have gotten involved in politics in an attempt to change the system, only to have the system change them. Others have succumbed to the temptation to take vengeance into their own hands, bringing condemnation onto themselves and God-fearing Christians everywhere. "Thou shalt not murder" includes actions against God's enemies, whom we called to pray for.

Can the war against abortion be won? Absolutely! But not in the physical realm. It is a spiritual battle against spiritual principalities and powers in high places. Why has the Church not been successful in tearing down these strongholds? Because we are using the wrong weapons. This battle will not be won by political action committees; it will be won by getting on our knees.

Before I give you the opportunity to help in the fight against abortion, we need to understand the principality we are going to confront and the efficacy of our spiritual weapons.

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Cor 10:3-5) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Eph 6:12)

The Bible makes it clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against wicked spiritual forces in heavenly places. Over 45 million children have been murdered through the barbaric act of abortion which, on a spiritual level, is no less than child sacrifice; and unless this national sin is attacked on a spiritual level, it will never be eliminated.

Let's be clear as to God's view of an unborn child. In Jeremiah 1:5, God tells Jeremiah: ``Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.'' In God's view, an unborn child is not just a ``collection of cells'', ``a fertilized ovum'', ``fallopian and uterine cell matter'', ``a product of conception'', ``a fertilized fetal-placental unit'' or ``a very fragile one-inch-long mass of differentiated tissue acting as a parasite within the mother's body''. In the eyes of God, the unborn baby is alive, known by God, and possessing a God-ordained life.

``Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You. For You have formed my inward parts; You have covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.'' (Psalm 139:12-18)

God formed us in the womb and, from the moment of conception, we were (and are still) precious in His thoughts. He has fashioned the days for us, meaning that He has a perfect plan and purpose for our lives.

Since in God's eyes life begins at conception, abortion is a serious sin. It is no less than murder. Only to someone deceived by all the pro-abortion rhetoric about a pre-born child not being alive would the death be manslaughter rather than premeditated murder.

In the Old Testament, when someone committed manslaughter, they could seek protection in one of the Cities of Refuge that God commanded Moses to build when the children of Israel entered the Promised Land (Numbers 35). The principle of their existence was to provide refuge in the case of accidental death. If you killed someone, an "avenger of blood'' would then pursue you to take your life (the "eye for an eye'' principle). However, if the death was not premeditated, you had the right to flee to a City of Refuge. There, outside the city gates, you could petition the elders of the city for entrance, based on the fact that the death was unintentional. Once admitted into the city, you were safe from the avenger of blood. If you left the city, the avenger again had the right to execute you. Only once the High Priest died were you free to leave the city and no longer be persecuted.

When Jesus was hanging on the cross, He cried out: ``Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.'' This statement put His death into the manslaughter category. Therefore, if we acknowledge Jesus as our High Priest then, symbolically, He becomes our City of Refuge. In Him is forgiveness of sin and eternal life. Jesus willingly laid down His own life as a sacrifice of atonement for the sins of the world. God provided a lamb without spot or blemish. Because of Him, we don't have to pay the penalty for our sins; ie., ultimate spiritual death and separation from God. The High Priest laid down His life so that we could be free of the avenger of blood.

But regardless of one's understanding or ignorance of God's view on abortion, the root of this sin is in the occult. God often refers to a sin based on its occultic root and not on its particular outward manifestation. For example, rebellion is categorized as witchcraft (1 Sam 15:23), immorality is likened to idolatry (Col 3:5), hatred is equated with murder (1 John 3:15) and abortion (on both a physical and spiritual plain) is child-sacrifice to demonic powers and principalities (Lev 20:2, Amos 1:13, Jer 32:35, Jer 19:5).

The demons at the spiritual heart of abortion can be traced back to Lot, but let's begin during the reign of Louis XIV and the investigation into the mysterious poisoning deaths of several members of his court. The investigation led to a Madame de Montespan, Louis' favorite mistress. But, more importantly, the investigation uncovered a network of abortion services connected with Satanic rituals, as borne out by Madame de Montespan's daughter's testimony:

``At one of my mother's masses, I saw my mother bring in a premature infant and place it over a basin where its throat was slit and the blood drained into a chalice. Then the cup, filled with the baby's blood, was lifted up to heaven and this invocation was given: `Hail Ashtaroth and Asmodeus, princes of friendship, I conjure you to accept this sacrifice of this child in return for the favors asked... '''

Who were these demons to which the pre-mature infants were being sacrificed? Asmodeus is a permutation of the Hebrew name for the demon of lust. Ashtaroth is the pagan demon consort of Baal (or Molech), who is worshiped as the demon of fertility (erotic love or lust). This demon is also known by several cultural permutations of the name Ashtaroth, such as Astarte, Ishtar, Ashtart, Asherah and the name that has surfaced today -- Aphrodite. It is hardly coincidental that the primary object of today's feminist goddess worship is Aphrodite and that today's form of child-sacrifice, abortion, is associated with her.

Since in God's eyes there is no difference between a prenatal or postnatal child, the blood sacrifice of a pre-born to obtain demonic ``favors'' is no different than the sacrifice of any human being.

Abortion is child sacrifice. Its origins can be traced back to the incestuous act of Lot's daughters against their father. As a result of this incestuous relationship, two sons were born: Moab, the progenerator of the (an idolatrous nation) and Ben-ammi, the progenerator of the Ammonites.

1 Kings 11:15 speaks about Molech, the detestable idol of the Ammonites. From Lev 20:2, we find that Molech-worship involved the sacrifice of post-natal children, but in Amos 1:13 God condemns the Ammonites for a particularly contemptible form of blood thirstiness: they "ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead'' -- sacrifice of the unborn.

In Jeremiah 32:35, the Ammonites ''...built the high places of Baal which are in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech.'' And in Jer 19:5, ``they have also built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal.'' Archeologists have confirmed what the scriptures support -- that Baal/Molech was the same pagan god whose wife (or consort) was Ashtaroth, the pagan goddess worshiped through abortion by Madame de Montespan in France just 250 years ago.

To summarize, these demons originally gained a foothold on the earth through the incestuous act of Lot's daughters. The Ammonites, their descendants, became demon-possessed through child sacrifice to the demon Molech/Baal. About 250 years ago the demon resurfaces in France as the wife of Baal, Ashtaroth. And finally Ashtaroth appears in our day as Aphodite, where she is once again worshiped and sacrificed to through the sin of abortion.

The issue is not one of "choice". The issue is one of rebellion versus obedience to a holy and righteous God. To God, abortion is a heinous sin. If you choose to ignore God and exercise free choice over that of God's express will, you are in rebellion against God. Alexander Crowley, the famous Satanist, once said: "Do what you wilt is the whole of the law.'' In other words, anything goes. There are no moral absolutes or God to be concerned with. Satanism and new-age philosophers espouse that everyone is his own god. This form of rebellion toward God, rooted in witchcraft and pride, causes God to oppose the person in rebellion because "God gives grace to the humble, but opposes the proud."

On a national level, the United States is in clear danger of God's immediate judgment. Consider ancient Carthage, one of the greatest cities of the Phoenician empire. This civilization was highly advanced and highly educated, but there was also a high incidence of child sacrifice. God eventually judged them and used the Romans to totally destroy the city. God will not be mocked. He is long-suffering because He is not willing that any should perish, but God will only let sin go so far. When it reaches its fullness, God will judge. In the Old Testament, God used Israel to destroy the enemies of God (Numbers 33:51-52). Today however, because of Jesus, the battle is waged on a higher plain. We now have the God-given authority, through Jesus Christ, to attack the demons directly (Matt 28:18-19, Mark 16:7, Luke 7:28, Luke 11:20, John 14:12).

When Jesus sent His disciples out, He sent them out two by two. The Bible tells us that where one can send ten to flight, two can send 100. We are ten times stronger when we agree or come against the enemy in prayer and direct spiritual warfare. Since these are major demonic powers and principalities, having been strengthened through the spilling of the innocent blood of about 45 million children, our prayers will be more effective through group intercessory prayer meetings. God is looking for fervent and effectual intercessory prayer.

"Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your young children……'' (Lam 2:19).

In Rev 2:20, God admonishes the Church at Thyatira for tolerating Jezebel, the queen who was intimately involved with witchcraft in the worship of Baal, the demon of child-sacrifice (1 Kings 18:19). The Church in America and much of the rest of the world has become like the Church at Thyatira. Jezebel has been tolerated and even ordained. Ex-abortionist Dr. Bernard Nathanson, in an address to the National Right to Life conference in 1980, documents this fact: ``It (the abortion clinic) was in New York City and curiously...was established and fed by the Clergy Consultation Services, an organization of 1200 Protestant ministers and Jewish Rabbis who took it upon themselves to funnel through 60,000 young women in the space of the 19 months that I ran it.''

We have tolerated the spirit of abortion. Woe to America! Remember the height from which you have fallen.

``And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and beguile My servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds." (Rev 2 2:18-22)

In the Old Testament, Esther had been placed in a position of influence as the wife of King Xerxes. And the time had come, when at the potential cost of her own life, she had to take a stand to prevent Haman from killing and annihilating all the Jews -- young and old, women and little children. As Esther counted the cost of approaching the King without being summoned, Mordecai cautioned her not to think that because she was in the king's house that she alone of all the Jews would escape. He went on to counsel her that if she remained silent, relief and deliverance for the Jews would arise from another place, but she and her father's family would perish. And then Mordecai, with the wisdom of God, remarked -- "who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?"

Who knows if you, the reader of this article, have come to a royal position for such a time as this? Make no mistake about it, as a child of God, "you are part of a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." (1PE 2:9)

Too long have the holy bastions upon which this great nation was founded been under the assault of the godless powers of darkness. Too long has the enemy been allowed to steal our heritage. It is time to rise up in war to defeat the enemy that has come to steal, to destroy and to kill not only the lives of the innocents, but the lives of your families and friends that have either not come under the covering of God or who, through ignorance, do not know how to wield the weapons of our warfare.

It is time to wage war, but it will not be a physical war; it will be a spiritual war in the heavenlies upon which our very survival as a nation may depend. The psalmist declares: "Praise be to the LORD my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me." (Psa 144:1-2)

So here is the call that is being made to each of you who has read this article. Will you seek the Lord to see if he would have you join in this Holy war against the powers of wickedness in high places? Are you willing to join others across this nation in intercessory prayer against the spiritual enemies of God?
