Behold, I set thee a Watchman on the Wall" (Isaiah 62:6)

Terrorism - Stepping Stone to the Mark?

By: Vince Aquilino -- To His Glory Ministries, 07/03/2002

As America continues to be distracted by the shadow of 9/11, mark-of-the-beast and surveillance technology has continued to advance at a rapid pace.

In order to implement the mark-of-the-beast technology identified in the 13th chapter of the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, five major components will be necessary. The first four to implement the mark-of-the-beast surveillance system via implantable GPS enabled computer chips and the fifth one to further refine your location

1) The implantable technology and a painless, easy delivery method

2) The will to be implanted

3) Infrastructure -- Satellite Communication Systems

4) A Global computerized databank to store identifications and locations

5) Computerized recognition systems and automated scanning techniques.

This article will discuss these, in no particular order, in order to give you a feel for the times we are living in and hopefully dispel some of the deception being preached and promulgated from the nation's pulpits by uninformed pastoral leadership.

"Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." (2 Peter 3:1-4)

I personally attended one such church where the pastor said he could not get excited about Biblical prophecy because he heard that stuff over 20 years ago when he first entered the ministry and nothing has changed. He did not realize that he was comfortably fulfilling 2 Peter 3:1-4.

The fact is much has changed as we are seeing with our own eyes the beginnings of the culmination of all Biblical prophecy in our generation.

Jesus replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,' and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. (MAT 16:2-3)

Can you interpret the signs of the times?

"... the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness... Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless" ... You therefore, beloved, since you know these things beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen." (2 Peter 3:10-11, 14, 17-18)

Let's take a look at the state of the possible mark of the beast technology which holds great promise for mankind which cannot be overlooked. All that remains is to condition the populace to accept the chip transplants.

One area of application of this technology which will foster acceptance is in the medical field. New implantible technology will allow vital signs to be monitored by a a sub-cutaneous chip which can transmit to health care providers and to emergency services in the event of an emergency -- cutting response time and saving lives.

And how can you argue with "sight" being restored to blind eyes?

On May 8, 2002, USA Today reported: ix blind or near-blind people can now see light and in some cases pick out shapes and recognize faces after having an artificial retina inserted into their eyes. The findings raise hopes that the bionic eye may restore some sight for the estimated 10 million Americans afflicted with blinding eye diseases. Alan Chow, the ophthalmologist who helped invent the Artificial Silicon Retina, and his colleagues tucked the computer retinas into a slit they made in the eyes of six people blinded by retinitis pigmentosa, a rare progressive degeneration of the retina. Solar cells in the device's microchip are supposed to replace the function of the retina's light-sensing cells that have been damaged by disease. Doctors followed the patients for up to 21 months, and preliminary evidence hints that the device is working: All six had substantial improvement in their vision, says Chow, who will present the team's findings Wednesday at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting in Fort Lauderdale. Researchers reported no signs of infection in the patients…"

We are indeed entering a brave new world where knowledge is rapidly increasing as told to the prophet Daniel.

Face-recognition systems tied to computers can identify a single person in a large crowd such as was used at last year's Super Bowl in Tampa where police scanned every fan -- it actually worked as multiple criminal elements were identified. Such technology has been vigorously opposed, but now in light of 9/11 seems a perfectly acceptable means to identify potential terrorists and other potential "threats to society".

GPS (Global Positioning Sensing) technology can locate you via satellite to with in a hundred feet or so.

St. Clair, a suburb of St. Louis, is the 1st U.S. county equipped to pinpoint cellphone callers within a 100 yards using a combination of GPS, the satellite-based location technology, and network-based location systems. The reason must GPS tracking devices do not enjoy pin-point accuracy is that the government has intoduced a "jitter" into GPS communications to keep an enemy from using our own GPS technology to guide inbound ICBMs to bull's eye hits on hardened silos.

Therefore to track you every move, computerized recognition technology will be required. If you saw the futuristic movie "Minority Report" with Tom Cruise, you got a look at the retinal scanning technology that made it virtually impossible to "show your face" anywhere with out being detected. Is this stuff just science fiction?

On Feb 13,2002 , it was announced that Washington police are building what will be the nation's biggest network of surveillance cameras to monitor shopping areas, streets, monuments and other public places in the U.S. capital. The system would include hundreds of cameras, linking existing devices in Metro mass transit stations, public schools and traffic intersections to new digital cameras mounted to watch over neighborhoods and shopping districts. The justification for this system: "In the context of Sept. 11, we have no choice but to accept greater use of this technology" says Stephen Gaffigan, the head of the police department project. Gaffigan noted that the model they will use was inspired by a British surveillance system which has more than 2 million cameras in use throughout the country. Big Brother is indeed watching.

Well it will not just be retinal scans that can identify you. On May 16, 2002, the Houston Chronicle reported that at "Kroger stores customers are getting their groceries without cash, check or credit card. They rely on a new machine called SecureTouch-n-Pay. Shoppers can enroll free of charge to use the finger image machine, officially known as a biometric electronic financial transaction processing system. About 10 to 15 people per store sign up each week and enroll in the fingerprint identity verification system. There finger pring is scanned and the purchases are automatically charged to their account -- the cashless society. A representative from the store said woman especially like it because they don't have to bring a purse into the store. But the future holds more then this.

In "Minority Report", the computer systems not only immediately recognized Tom Cruise when he went into a store, but it knew of his past purchases and was quick to offer suggestions for new purchases. Personal were alerted so they could address him by name. With advances in chip speed and memory such "instantaneous real-time processing is now feasible.

We are probably all aware of the bar coding scheme which incorporates a "666" in its encoding scheme, but are you aware of e-PC (Electonic Product Code)? It is a new tracking technology called Auto-ID that is currently being developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. There stated goal is to ag every item in the world! Everything you buy from shoes

to shirts will be embedded with its own tiny electronic tag that can be read as you exit the store automatically billing your account without the benefit of cash. Computers will read your GPS-enabled chip for you ID and match the e-PC code to bill your account. They will no what you are buying and they will be able to profile you just from what you buy and do not buy. This information is invaluable for targeting you from a marketing perspective, but in the hands of an unethical dictator, consider the possibilities. Aslo consider that the day is coming when you will not beable to buy with out the mark on your right hand or forehead.

Will the threat of terrorism usher in this brave new world. Consider the National ID card vigorously opposed by privacy groups and the general populace? Support for a national ID card hit an all-time high after 9/11. A survey by Gartner Inc. found that 26% of Americans now backed the idea. The Gartner poll queried 1,120 people by phone found that response to the national ID system varied according to how they thought it would be used. Participants supported the airlines use of such a database to verify passengers' identities. Richard Hunter, a vice president at Gartner, said "Our data shows that people would only support a national ID for very specific, very limited purposes. The public and the government called for a national ID system after it was revealed that at least 11 of the Sept. 11 hijackers had used false identities. But now privacy concerns have risen and some aren't as enthusiastic about the cards as there are fears that the cards themselves would act as a national passport, allowing authorities to monitor people's movements and activities.

The New Border Security Law Signed in May by President Bush mandated that Travel visas will have fingerprints or retinal scans, and passports will be made tamperproof by next year. Want a passport? You'll need one to travel and that will mean supplying your finger prints or retinal scan.

On May 6th, CNN reported that two Virginia congressmen have proposed a $315 million program that would require biometric markers on all states' driver's licenses within five years. The Congressmen, Representatives Jim Moran, a Democrat, and Tom Davis, a Republican, want a driver's license to carry the driver's retinal scan, fingerprint or some other kind of biometric marker within an encrypted chip in the license. Critics are charging that the legislators are trying to evade popular opposition to a national ID card by creating what would in a sense be a national driver's license. Supporters say the card would help protect the privacy of the U.S. public by moving people away from the use of Social Security numbers for identification. Once a criminal gets a person's Social Security number, a host of information about the individual can be stolen. Using a biometric identifier in an encrypted chip would make it much harder for criminals to steal people's identities. The ACLU has said that an ID card with a national reach could lead to abuses by the government, including becoming a means to track residents and restrict internal movement in the U.S., as well as lead to racial and ethnic profiling by government agencies.

There is still sufficient opposition to these tactics to delay wide-spread integration of this technology into society, but how about after the next terrorist attack? How many of our precious blood-bought freedoms will be given up so we can have the illusion of peace and security?

This trend has already begun. Governor Ridge of Homeland Security said he wants to tighten border security but at the same time keep commerce flowing smoothly. How do you increase security and mnimize delays? The US Department of Transportation task force will soon release a transportation-worker identity card intended as a first step toward "trusted-traveler" cards for airline passengers. What does that mean for those who are not trusted?

The thrust for implementation is not just confined to U.S. borders, other countries are forging ahead with National Id cards utilizing smart-card technology. For example, in China, where the populace of Hong Kong are being issued new smart-card IDs with embedded computer chips that hold names, pictures and birth dates as well as a digital template of both thumbprints. The cards are mandatory. Despite the worries of civil libertarians, smart ID cards some with biometric data, like thumbprints are gaining momentum elsewhere in Asia and western Europe.

Of course there are other perfectly plausible uses for this technology such as the medical field. Breakthroughs in chip density make it possible to store your entire medical history on a tiny "chip" which can be placed in a plastic container such as a smart card, or conveniently embedded in you right hand or forehead.

Next year Intel will offer new memory chips containing 330 million "transistors." The chips will require half the size to offer the same capacity. Moore's Law states that the number of transistors on a given chip doubles every 18 to 24 months. At the rate, before long, all there is to know about you will be contained on a chip the size of the tip of a ball point pen or a grain of rice. Consider the broad application of such technology

With today's mobile populace, consider the benefits of carrying your entire medical history with you -- or in you. Consider the office space that will be saved in medical offices. How much time can be spent by medical professionals reading through your six- inch-thick file you have accumulated through the years in search of a key piece of data. How easy it would be to access your "data-store" with a computer equipped with heuristic search algorithms. Think it's science fiction and the stuff conspiracies are made of? Think again! Consider just one medical breakthrough in miniaturization created by Given Imaging of Israel. Each year more than 11 million people undergo an endoscopic exam involving a 3- to 9-foot long tube into the stomach or rectal area in search of cancerous polyps or other gastrointestinal ailments.

How would you like to get the job done by ingesting a pill called a "pillcam". The pillcam is swallowed and while it is traversing the 21-foot long tract between the stomach and colon it is taking pictures at the rate of two pictures a second. It can transmit 50,000 pictures to an 8-gigabyte hard drive on the patients belt. Not bad for a "pill" just .4 inches in diameter containing a .02 inch plastic lens. That's a lot of technology in such a small package, but how about an implantable chip about the size of a grain of rice.

VeriChip, first announced on December 19, 2001, is a miniaturized, implantable, radio frequency ID device (RFID) that purportedly can be used in a variety of security, emergency and healthcare applications.

The implant chip is about the size of a grain of rice composed of FDA-approved materials. It can transmit a verification number that is captured by passing an external scanner over the VeriChip. When a small amount of radio frequency energy passes through the skin, it energizes the dormant VeriChip, which then emits a radio frequency signal transmitting the verification ID number. This technology is made by Applied Digital Solutions. The company refers to the chip as Digital Angel technology and claims it represents the "first-ever combination of advanced biosensors and Web-enabled wireless telecommunications linked to the Global Positioning System (GPS)." By utilizing advanced biosensor capabilities, for example, Digital Angel will be able to monitor key body functions – such as temperature and pulse – and transmit that data, along with accurate emergency location information, to a ground station or monitoring facility.

The company and their technology, May 10th, received national coverage on ABC’s Good Morning America program when the Jeff and Leslie Jacobs, along with their 14-year-old son, Derek, had the tiny chips implanted in their arms. Each grain-of-rice sized chip took only about a minute to insert under local anesthesia. The rational for wanting the implantable chip was for future medical emergencies as the 48-year-old husband has suffered through cancer, a car crash, a degenerative spinal condition, chronic eye disease and abdominal operations which have forced him to quit his dental practice. The chips used by the Jacobs family contain only telephone numbers and information about previous medications...but that is the tip of the iceberg.

Media coverage is fostering the acceptance of this technology. Besides the coverage of the Jacobs, CBS Evening News aired an in-depth story on May 10, 2002, which included the 'chipping' of early stage Alzheimer's patient Nate Isaacson.

Commenting on the extensive media interest in the event, Scott R. Silverman, President of Applied Digital Solutions, said: "VeriChip has been the subject of widespread media attention for the past few months, everything from Time Magazine to the Today Show, the Early Show, CNN’s American Morning with Paula Zahn, CBS Weekend Evening News, and the O’Reilly Factor on Fox News. We’re delighted that Good Morning America and CBS Evening News will cover the first-ever "chipping" procedures on May 10th. Many other television networks, magazines and newspapers from around the world are expected to be there. CNN, Telemundo, Tech TV, Nick News, Inside Edition and Fox News all plan to be there. Reporters and photographers from the Associated Press and Reuters will cover the story. We’ve also heard from The Financial Times Magazine in London, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Wired News, the BBC, French television, German television, Nippon TV in Japan, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, you name it. Major media outlets throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America have expressed interest in covering this historic international news event, along with details of VeriChip’s initial market launch in the United States."

How much media conditioning will be necessary for the new generation who have grown up with the futuristic technology portrayed by the movie industry. Applied Digital Solutions' chief technology officer Keith Bolton said he was a bit wary about the Jacob's motives for implantation at first, but was quickly convinced that they were the perfect subjects. He went on to say that since the VeriChip was announced in December, the company has been bombarded with queries from people interested in the device including e over 2,000 kids who have e-mailed, wanting to have the chip implanted," he said. "They think it's cool."

So do the Jacobs and their statements perfectly parrot the potential for such technology: "I think it’s one more step in the evolution of man and technology," said Derek Jacobs, "The world would be a safer place if authorities had a tamper-proof way of identifying people," Leslie said. "I have nothing to hide, so I wouldn’t mind having the chip for verification," Leslie Jacobs said. " I already have an ID card, so why not have a chip?" Pilots could be chipped and scanned before they entered the cockpit, she suggested, to ensure the person sitting at the controls was indeed an airline employee. Her husband went further, suggesting that violent criminals and known terrorists should be routinely chipped as a matter of policy.

Richard Seelig, the company’s director of medical applications, injected two VeriChips into himself after hearing stories of rescue workers at the World Trade Center scrawling their names and Social Security numbers onto their bodies in case they didn’t make it out of the rubble alive.

These are all good ideas and good applications which will usher in acceptance of the chip. Let's not forget the profit motive. Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. announced that it has signed a non-exclusive distribution agreement with Speko Corporation. Speko is a leading personal security company in Mexico that provides a full range of security products for government agencies, commercial enterprises and individuals. Speko’s line-up of products includes personal security devices, building access controls, armored plating for vehicles and bulletproof vests. According to the Distribution Agreement, Speko has agreed to purchase 300 VeriChips and 20 proprietary VeriChip scanners. The Agreement calls for an initial term of six months with a minimum sales quota of an additional 600 VeriChips and 60 proprietary VeriChip scanners. Assuming the minimum sales quota is met, the Agreement will renew for successive six-month terms. Minimum sales quota revenues for the initial six-month term will be $250,000. Both companies anticipate that sales volume for the first six months will produce a revenue stream of up to $2 million. Company executives believe the worldwide market for such implantable chips could reach $70 billion per year and that profit motive will drive wide-spread media conditioning espousing the benefits of such chips to help the human condition.

Commenting on the Agreement, the President of Applied Digital Solutions, stated: "We are very pleased to have a partner of Speko’s caliber in the high-potential Mexican marketplace. As one of Latin America’s most populous countries, we anticipate that the security and healthcare applications for VeriChip will be far-reaching, providing us with a significant revenue stream. Indeed! And he [THE BEAST, THE ANTI-CHRIST] causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Rev 13:16-18)

Radio-frequency identification chips can already be found have already found a home in applications ranging from toll road passes to smart retail shelves, but with the advent of passive RFID (Radio Frequency) chips that are compatible with human tissue, the possibilities are virtually endless from implantable pacemakers, defibrillators and artificial joints and Applied Digital Solutions indicated that he chip could be injected through a syringe and used as a sort of "human bar code" in security applications. This raises the possibility you could be "chipped" and not even know it since the chip is only a 12mm by 2.1mm radio frequency device about the size of the point of a typical ballpoint pen.

We could well be looking at the forerunner of the "mark-of-the-beast" technology which will someday give vast dictatorial power and control over the masses of the world dedicated to serve and worship the beast. And yet such technology holds such promise. Consider the May 8, 2002, USA Today article which reported that "Six blind or near-blind people can now see light and in some cases pick out shapes and recognize faces after having an artificial retina inserted into their eyes, according to findings released Wednesday by the co-inventor of the device. The findings raise hopes that the bionic eye may restore some sight for the estimated 10 million Americans afflicted with blinding eye diseases.

There are broad and extensive plans being made to "chip" those who essentially have no choice such as prisoners and military personnel. The British military is experimenting with implanting chips in all soldiers. It would eliminate dog tags, could track AWOL soldiers, find MIA’s and POW’s and lost or downed

pilots. It would show the precise location of every soldier in the fieldOfficials say the entire British Army could be microchipped by 2010!

As you can see there are practical and exciting uses for this technology from thwarting kidnappers attempts to keep the hostages location secret, to restoring eye sight. This technology will not be abandoned, but will continue to be embraced as the profit potential will be overwhelming and the promise for humanity, persuasive. Profit and hope will override any conspiracy theory that the technology is being developed to implement draconian controls on a slave population.

CNN reported on Monday, May 6,2002 that two Virginia congressmen proposed a $315 million program that would require biometric markers on all states' driver's licenses within five years. The Congressmen, Representatives Jim Moran, a Democrat, and Tom Davis, a Republican, want a driver's license to carry the driver's retinal scan, fingerprint or some other kind of biometric marker within an encrypted chip in the license. Critics are charging that the legislators are trying to evade popular opposition to a national ID card by creating what would in a sense be a national driver's license, but supporters say the card would help protect the privacy of the U.S. public by moving people away from the use of Social Security numbers for identification.

Once wide-spread acceptance of this technology is achieved, the next step is to address the possibility that these chips could be stolen and wouldn't it be better to have it quickly and painlessly implanted so theft would be virtually impossible, so your kids could be quickly located in the event they are kidnapped, you need emergency medical treatment, etc. We are well on the way towards being able to technologically fulfill Revelation 13.

By the way, the "Wired News" article of Feb. 6th covering the Jacob's families desire to be implanted suggested everyone should "get the chip" and also suggests that unless you have something to hide you will get the chip also.

Getting a chip is one thing, but being able to track it and read it via GPS technology is another.

Was it a coincidence that on May 9,2002, the US military asked for $90 million of extra funding to increase the signal strength of its satellite Global Positioning System. The Department of Defense says this would protect it from atmospheric interference and deliberate jamming. Whether the funds will be awarded will be decided early in 2003. The money would be used to modify up to 20 new satellites, the first of which would be launched in 2004. The new satellites would be fully operational by 2006. Each satellite would be fitted with more powerful radio transmitters to boost the GPS signal to eight times that currently used. This would provide greater accuracy by reducing atmospheric interference. It would also make it more difficult for an enemy to jam the signal and disorientate troops on the ground or throw smart weapons off course.

However, it will also please you to know that Iridium went live in March of last year. The Iridium Satellite System, so they boast, is the only provider of truly global, truly mobile satellite voice and data solutions with complete coverage of the Earth (including oceans, airways and Polar regions). Through a constellation of 66 low-earth orbiting (LEO) satellites operated by Boeing, Iridium delivers essential communications services to and from remote areas where terrestrial communications are not available. Company information on their web site indicate their service is ideally suited for industrial applications such as heavy construction, defense/military, emergency services, maritime, mining, forestry, oil and gas and aviation. Iridium currently provides services to the United States Department of Defense and launched commercial service in March 2001.

66 satellites is an interesting number as "6" is the number of man. "66" could represent an ultimate expression of man's accomplishment and perhaps form the basis for a modern day Tower of Babel that has in fact reached into the heavens. Technology exists today to do live translation of voice communications. For example, one party would speak in Japanese and the other party would hear in English. Iridium holds much potential for students of Biblical prophecy and is a harbinger of the global communications that will be necessary to implement the one-world government and be the glue that links the mark-of-the-beast technology to global databases controlled and utilized by the anti-christ (666) -- a man who has achieved the dream of all satanists that was envisioned in the Garder of Eden - you shall be like God knowing good from evil. By the way, Irridium promises complete global coverage, including all oceans and all land areas including the Poles and connects global satellite coverage with local ground-based wireless services.

But what about a database, a central clearing house for all this information. Fear not!

The U.N. on December 17th, 2001 heard a proposal for Global Human Database I.D. Every person in the world would be fingerprinted and registered under a universal identification scheme to purportedly fight illegal immigration and people smuggling. The plan was put forward by Pascal Smet, the head of Belgium's independent review board. Mr Smet said the European Union was already considering a Europe-wide system, using either fingerprints or eye scanning technology, to identify citizens. But he said the plan could be extended worldwide. Mr Smet said the scheme would give people dignity by giving them an identity if their papers had been lost or destroyed. And he said it would allow countries to open their borders to genuine travellers or asylum seekers, because they would be able to prove the identity of any over-stayers and deport them without argument from their home country.

How about that a global Human Database that will give you dignity as they chop off your head for refusing to take the mark.

There should be sufficient information in this article to give you pause so you will consider your ways and walk circumspectly before a Holy and Righteous God. Phillipians 2:12 tells us to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." Indeed, have you examined the out-working of your salvation? Is there fruit there? Is there oil in the lamp?

"For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. "For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks." (Luke 6:43-45)

"He also spoke this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. "Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, 'Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?' "But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. 'And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.' " (Luke 13:6-9)

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another." (Gal 5:22-26)

"Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. "Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. "But if that evil servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' "and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, "the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, "and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, "but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. "But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. "And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' "Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'

"But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' "And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' "But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.' "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming." (Matt 24:46-25:13)

The time is indeed short! Keep watching and above all, guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you. Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil. (Proverbs 4:23-27)

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength. For He brings down those who dwell on high, the lofty city; He lays it low, He lays it low to the ground, He brings it down to the dust The foot shall tread it down - the feet of the poor and the steps of the needy." The way of the just is uprightness; O Most Upright, You weigh the path of the just. Yes, in the way of Your judgments, O LORD, we have waited for You; the desire of our soul is for Your name and for the remembrance of You. With my soul I have desired You in the night, yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; for when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Let grace be shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD. LORD, when Your hand is lifted up, they will not see. But they will see and be ashamed for their envy of people; yes, the fire of Your enemies shall devour them. LORD, You will establish peace for us, for You have also done all our works in us." (Isa 26:3-27:12)

Look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. (Luke 21:28)

Let us hope that July 4th is truly independence day and not the beginning of global tyranny on a scale not imagined in the history of barbarism.

Is it possible that July 4th is a target date for the next terrorist attack?

Possibly!

Mark Robinson wrote on July 3rd in a WorldNet Daily article noted that on Sunday

(http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=28159) one of the "experts" in the endless parade of experts on cable news stated the obvious: "I am unaware of any special significance of the date Sept. 11." His implication was that there is no reason to anticipate a terror attack on July 4 because bin Laden didn't use date significance as a basis for selecting 9-11. Although he was technically accurate, he was pretty far from correct.

Bin Laden is trying to raise the entire Muslim world to Jihad. Creating the mystique of the Chosen is central to his goal, and symbolism is the greatest weapon in his arsenal (thus far). Consider what he said (twice) in his post-Sept. 11 video: "… after 80 years, the sword has come to America …" He was clearly referring to the resolution passed by the U.S. Congress endorsing the partition of Palestine (creation of a Zionist homeland) on Sept. 11, 1922.

Experts on American news networks continually warn us that al-Qaida may be encoding secret messages to sleeper cells in their videos and communiqués, but bin Laden speaks openly, relying on us not knowing even our own history, let alone Islamic history. Which brings us to July 4. We, in our narcissism, assume that July 4 is all about us. But to Muslims it is a day of ultimate triumph.

On July 4, 1197, Saladin (Salah al-Din) completely annihilated the 20,000-man Crusader army at the battle of the Horns of Hattin, driving the "Christians" from the Holy Land until the 20th century. And we can be sure it is not lost on bin Laden that Saladin won this battle in spite of the fact that the Crusaders carried with them the "True Cross" (the True Cross was a relic designated by Constantine's mother during the initial phase of the paganization of Christianity).

Consequently, July 4 is a very likely candidate for a terrorist strike, albeit only if the Islamists feel they have the means to achieve a final victory over the U.S.

The first question is, do they? Recently, al-Qaida spokesman Abu Ghaith promised to kill 4,000,000 of us, referring to America as "Hubal." Hubal was the last and the largest of the 364 pagan gods in the Kaaba to be toppled by Muhammad (al-ilah, the predecessor to Allah, was left standing). The image of Hubal was so large that Ali (Muhammad's son and the first Imam) had to stand on the Prophet's shoulders to push it over.

The second question is, clearly, is bin Laden ready to stand on the Prophet's shoulders now? That really should be a role of the 12th Imam (Al Mahdi – the long-awaited Muslim chosen one who will convert the whole world by the sword). Maybe bin Laden has been hanging around a guy in really old clothes for a reason: Mullah Omar wears the Cloak of Muhammad (which he stole from a museum in Kandahar). We all know neither clothes nor symbols make the man, but in an eschatologically-based war, image and deeds together can be larger than life. Remember, most of Europe capitulated before Tiger tanks bearing swastikas and the mere idea of blitzkrieg.

It is reported that Bin Laden writes poetry in the style of Saladin. For bin Laden, defeating the Crusader army and knocking over Hubal on July 4 would be the stuff of which epic poems are made.
