Behold, I set thee a watchman on the wall" (Isaiah 62:6)

One-World in Sight?

9/06/2000, Vince Aquilino

In the article entitled "Middle-East Update -- The Stage is Being Set" http://prophecyandcurrentevents.com/thglory/peacey2k.htm, I wrote:

"Is it possible that in the aftermath of a nuclear exchange in the Middle East over religion, that religion will be declared the source of all war and the one-world religion of compromise will be ushered in."

It is fascinating that President Bill Clinton not only told world leaders gathered today in New York that the

"United Nations needs a rapid deployment force of well-trained and well-equipped soldiers capable of projecting 'credible force' into trouble spots, but declared to the group that "most wars now occur within borders and are caused principally by 'ethnic and religious' differences." Imagine that!!!

It is clear to this author that the stage is being set for the One-World Religion and that the flash-point for implementation could be a Middle-East war (such as that prophesied by Ezekiel in Ezekiel chapter 38)

Considering that all the stops are being pulled off to have a Peace Agreement by September 13th (a prophetically significant date being exactly seven years from the first peace treaty signed on September 13th, 1993 by Rabin), we can have the stage being set for either a war or peace. The stumbling block to a successful peace negotiation is Jerusalem, and to narrow the focus, the Temple Mount. If peace is achieved, the Bible clearly indicates, according to 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3, that sudden destruction will follow:

"But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, "Peace and safety! then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape." (1 Thes 5:1-3)

It should be noted that the context of the above passage is the "Day of the Lord" which can be a reference to the Tribulation period and/or the 1000 year Millennium rule of Jesus on the physical throne of David. And here we have a possible peace treaty just a few weeks away. This begs the question, how close is the rapture?

The Lord speaking through the prophet Hosea tells us: " Come, and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight." (Hosea 6:1-2). Are the two "days" (2000 years as to the Lord a 1000 years is as a day - see Psalm 90) about up. Considering that Jesus, by some accounts was born on September 29th (Rosh Ha'shanna that year - Rosh Ha'Shanna is known as the "Last Trump" in Jewish Eschatology) in the year 2 BC. Counting 2,000 years brings us to September of 1999 (remember there is no year zero). Are the "two days" up and we are soon to live in His sight during the Millennium.

There is also evidence that 6,000 years have passed since Adam and we are about to enter in to the Millennium. I have written extensively about the 7,000 year plan of God and you may read the articles by following the links below. At the time I wrote them, I may have not considered that there is no year zero, so the Milllennium celebration (Y2K) we went through may have, in fact, been the start of the 6,000th year. That would make 2001, next year, the official start of the Millennium (as some secular calandars note). However, next year on the Jewish calandar starts on Rosh Ha'Shanna and it falls on September 30th of this year -- just a few weeks away. There is some interesting eschatology with regard to Rosh Ha'Shanna. For example, Rosh Ha'Shanna traditionally was a two-day holiday because it took "two witnesses" to declare that the new moon has arrived which marked the beginning of the feast. In ancient times, once the new moon was spotted spotted the wittnesses had to run to Jerusalem to the priests and bear witness, so two days were declared for the feast day just in case by the time they got there that one day had ended and the next began. Interestingly, this year the new moon will appear so close to sundown (Jewish days start at sundown) that even computer models cannot predict exactly which day it will actually be first visible to the naked eye. Rosh Ha'Shanna in Jewish eschatology, for this reason, was also known as the "Hidden Day" -- which may have been what Jesus was idiomatically referring to when he said: "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming." Rosh Ha'Shanna (the "last trump") may also be the "appointed time" of the rapture (Remember that Jewish feast days were prophetic -- known as "Moed" which literally means "appointed time") and the Bible indicates that the rapture is at the last trumpet:

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." (1 Co 15:51-52)

In 1 Thessalonians we also find the following reference to the "trump" of God:

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep." For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (1 Thes 4:13-17)

Getting back to the largest gathering of world leaders in history (which convened Wednesday, September 6th, 2000) at the U.N. Millennium Summit in New York, let us not forget that the ethnic differences Bill Clinton was referring to, was also told us by Jesus Christ. Speaking about wars and rumors of wars in Matthew 24, Jesus declared that: "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matthew 24:7-8) It is no coincidence that the word translated nation or kingdom is the Greek word transliterated "ethnos" which refers to a race of people. In other words, Jesus is saying that these will be ethnic wars. What has dominated the wars and rumors of wars in the 20th century -- wars of "ethnic cleansing" such as in the Sudan, Bosnia, Albania, and in the current tensions between India and Pakistan.

Considering Clinton has declared that the source of most wars is religion and ethnic differences, it is intriguing that in the same speech, that Clinton told the World leaders that the United Nations needs a rapid deployment force of well-trained and well-equipped soldiers capable of projecting "credible force" into trouble spots. He also went on to say that "national sovereignty and territorial integrity should take a back seat to keeping the peace."

There you have it folks the mandate for one-world government, one-world religion and a one-world "peace-keeping" force -- all in one speech.

Whether the rapture is this year, next year, seven more years from now, or on some other date is really irrelevant as we should all be living as if Jesus is coming today for a holy and spotless Bride today. With Calendar differences and Calendar error introduced over the years, the rapture may in fact be years away -- but all evidence seems to indicate that the rapture is nearer than later and will certainly come at a time when we do not expect it. So be ready spiritually.

What is important above all else is to remember that Jesus is returning for a holy and spotless. The rapture could occur at any time. Are you ready? Or are you like the foolish virgins who had let their lights go out and were denied access to the wedding feast. If you are still dealing with besetting sin, now would be a good time to fast, pray and seek the Lord for deliverance before it is to late and the door to the ark of salvation is closed forever.

"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." (Luke 21:36)

Maranatha!
