As we have prayed about this, it seemed that prayer groups should be organized world-wide for the express purpose of warfare praying against the powers and principalities behind the sin of abortion; that the internet would provide the glue holding these groups together, for teaching, encouragement, etc.
If we will not pray and intercede, our nation, and any other nation that participates in the murder of the innocents, is in danger of the judgement of God.
Because of the sin of abortion, the United States and other nations of the world are in clear danger of God's immediate judgment. Consider ancient Carthage, one of the greatest cities of the Phoenician empire. This civilization was highly advanced and highly educated, but there was also a high incidence of child sacrifice. God eventually judged them and used the Romans to totally destroy the city. God will not be mocked. He is long-suffering because He is not willing that any should perish, but God will only let sin go so far. When it reaches its fullness, God will judge. How close is America to judgement? In the Old Testament, God used Israel to destroy the enemies of God (Numbers 33:51-52). Today however, because of Jesus, the battle is waged on a higher plain. We now have the God-given authority, through Jesus Christ, to attack the demons directly (Matt 28:18-19, Mark 16:7, Luke 7:28, Luke 11:20, John 14:12).
When Jesus sent His disciples out, He sent them out two by two. The Bible tells us that where one can send ten to flight, two can send 100. We are ten times stronger when we agree or come against the enemy in prayer and direct spiritual warfare. Since these are major demonic powers and principalities, having been strengthened through the spilling of the innocent blood of about 45 million children, our prayers will be more effective if we join together through group intercessory prayer meetings. God is looking for fervent and effectual intercessory prayer.
"Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your young children……'' (Lam 2:19).
In Rev 2:20, God admonishes the Church at Thyatira for tolerating Jezebel, the queen who was intimately involved with witchcraft in the worship of Baal, the demon of child-sacrifice (1 Kings 18:19). The Church in America and much of the rest of the world has become like the Church at Thyatira. Jezebel has been tolerated and even ordained. Ex-abortionist Dr. Bernard Nathanson, in an address to the National Right to Life conference in 1980, documents this fact: ``It (the abortion clinic) was in New York City and curiously...was established and fed by the Clergy Consultation Services, an organization of 1200 Protestant ministers and Jewish Rabbis who took it upon themselves to funnel through 60,000 young women in the space of the 19 months that I ran it.''
We have tolerated the spirit of abortion. Woe to America! Remember the height from which you have fallen.
``And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and beguile My servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and
those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds." (Rev 2 2:18-22)In the Old Testament, Esther had been placed in a position of influence as the wife of King Xerxes. And the time had come, when at the potential cost of her own life, she had to take a stand to prevent Haman from killing and annihilating all the Jews -- young and old, women and little children. As Esther counted the cost of approaching the King without being summoned, Mordecai cautioned her not to think that because she was in the king's house that she alone of all the Jews would escape. He went on to counsel her that if she remained silent, relief and deliverance for the Jews would arise from another place, but she and her father's family would perish. And then Mordecai, with the wisdom of God, remarked -- "who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?"
Who knows if you, the reader of this article, have come to a royal position for such a time as this? Make no mistake about it, as a child of God,
"you are part of a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." (1PE 2:9)Too long have the holy bastions upon which this great nation was founded been under the assault of the godless powers of darkness. Too long has the enemy been allowed to steal our heritage. It is time to rise up in war to defeat the enemy that has come to steal, to destroy and to kill not only the lives of the innocents, but the lives of your families and friends that have either not come under the covering of God or who, through ignorance, do not know how to wield the weapons of our warfare.
It is time to wage war, but it will not be a physical war; it will be a spiritual war in the heavenlies upon which our very survival as a nation may depend. The psalmist declares
: "Praise be to the LORD my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me." (Psa 144:1-2)So here is the call that is being made to each of you who has read this article. Will you seek the Lord to see if he would have you join in this Holy war against the powers of wickedness in high places? Are you willing to join others across this nation and the world in intercessory prayer against the spiritual enemies of God?
If you are willing to commit to heading up a small, non-denominational, intercessory prayer group in your area, consisting of any intercessors from all faiths that name the name of Jesus, then here is what can be done to help you:
Through the technology of the internet, we will, based on the Word of God, learn to train our hands for war and our fingers for battle. We will learn about effective, fervent prayer. We will learn how to wage war in the heavenlies, how to tear down strongholds, and how to destroy the gates of hell. We will learn how to stand against the wiles of the wicked one and how to be victorious in battle. We will learn how to conduct a spiritual fire-fight and how to cover each other in prayer.
How many lives might be saved because of your firm commitment to pray?
But the Bible tells us that before we build, we must count the cost:
"For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it - "lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all who see it begin to mock him, "saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish.' (Luke 14:28-30)
So count the cost and decide, but consider
: "Who knows if you have come to royal position for such a time as this?"Are you willing to be a warrior in Christ's last-day army? Are you willing to be part of a world-wide assault against the enemy? Are you willing to be a pleasing sacrifice to the Lord in warfare prayer? Are you willing to store up treasure in heaven? It will be worth it when on the Day you stand before Jesus and He says:
"Well done, good and faithful servant."When it seemed as if there was no chance that George W. Bush would be elected, it was a concentrated prayer effort spear-headed by Pastor Dutch Sheets that turned the tide. When it appeared that it was hopeless, God proved Himself faithful and stood by His word
that "the fervent effectual prayer of a righteous [people] availeth much." Perhaps it will be your commitment to prayer that will make the difference. Perhaps this is your time and you are truly called for such a time as this.Today we are witnessing increased natural disasters as God is pleading for repentance. We hear His call:
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chron 7:14)In 2nd Chronicles 7:14, the Lord's promise for healing of the land is conditioned on all people who name the name of Jesus to humble themselves (by overcoming petty denominational differences that have divided the Church of Jesus Christ) and to come together in prayer to seek His face. Then, and only then, as we turn from our wicked ways, will God hear from heaven and heal our land.
When those in the upper room gathered with one accord in prayer and supplication, the Holy Spirit came in power. The lives in that room were transformed as they were empowered by the Holy Spirit to change the world. The gates of hell did not prevail and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus has filled the whole earth, even as the waters have covered the sea. (Hab 2:14)
Will you not humble yourselves by joining others who name the name of Jesus, so that in one accord, in prayer and supplication, the world might be changed; that our nation and the nations of the world might be delivered from the ultimate judgement demanded by the blood curse that has infected the land through abortion; and that we might have more time to bring in the harvest?
