CALL TO NATIONAL REPENTANCE:

Presidential, Congressional Proclamations Needed Now! Gather together, gather together, O shameful nation, before the appointed time arrives and that day sweeps on like chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD comes upon you, before the day of the Lord's wrath comes upon you. Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, you who do what He commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the Lord's anger (Zeph 2:1-3; see also all of chapters 1 & 2).

From Florida in his first public statement regarding the terrorist attacks upon our nation, President Bush called for a moment of silence. Later from Barksdale Air Force in Louisiana, he asked for our prayers.

During the Civil War, many God-fearing Americans recognized the war to be nothing less than God's judgment upon the entire nation. Pastors and other leaders appealed to Congress to recognize the need not only for prayer, but also for prayer mixed with REPENTANCE as the only hope to mitigate much-deserved judgment.

We ask Christians everywhere to petition your pastors, the President, your Congressman and Senators. Ask them to make an official appeal to their flocks and constituents to REPENT and PRAY. Let fasts, prayer meetings, community and citywide prayer gatherings of every kind be called to cry out to God and to humbly seek Him with genuine, Biblical REPENTANCE, that His wrath might mercifully be turned from us.

Lincoln's Prayer Proclamation

LINCOLN'S PRAYER PROCLAMATION

On March 30, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued an historic Proclamation Appointing a National Day of Prayer & Fasting:

Whereas, the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the supreme authority and just government of the Almighty God in all the affairs of men and of nations has by a resolution requested the president to designate and set apart a day for national prayer and humiliation.

And whereas, it is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God: to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon: and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord:

And insomuch as we know that by His divine law nations, like individuals, are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war which now desolates the land may be but a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole people? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown; but we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious land, which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God who made us:

It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness. All this being done in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the divine teachings, that the united cry of the nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering country to its former happy condition of unity and peace.

SPECIAL BULLETIN ON AMERICA UNDER ATTACK - Part 1 of 2

 Many have inquired of us about what the Lord has said, or is saying, about this most tragic day in U.S. history. Yes, and I will address the relevant words in a very general way now, and in more detail as events unfold. First, I would like to say that we, as Christians, are citizens of a kingdom that cannot be shaken. In the midst of everything like this that happens, we must first focus on the Lord and His unshakable throne in the heavenly places.

It is more crucial than ever for Christians to abide in the peace of God that is not dependent on any circumstances on earth, but on the power of our Almighty God. We overcome evil with the counter-power of good, and the counter to the fear and panic, that the enemy will try to sow in the hearts of all that he can through this kind of thing, is the peace of God.

Now, let me address what I believe the immediate consequences of this tragedy will be, along with what we as Christians should do, and then move to the more long term. What I am about to share is somewhat technical, and I do not mean to be insensitive to the terrible human suffering that these events have brought. First and foremost we should be praying for the families of all of our fellow citizens that have been affected by this unprecedented tragedy in American history.

Please also keep in mind that with prophecy we "see through a glass darkly," and we only "see in part." The Lord intends for prophecy to be this way so that all of His people have to know His voice and seek Him for personal direction.

If you followed my statements about Y2K, when I was told that Y2K was going to be a non-event, I was also told that the preparation that many people were making for Y2K was actually grace from the Lord to help them be prepared for other events that were to follow. If the events of this day do not bring the kind of consequences that are ultimately as life changing as many expected Y2K to be, it is likely that this is the beginning of them.

The emotional trauma that the nation will go through as the extent of this tragedy becomes known in its human toll, there will be demands for massive retaliation against all terrorist groups and the nations that host them. This can unsettle the world political equilibrium much more than anything has in decades. We are entering a time when we must pray for all government leaders around the world, for the Lord to intervene in such a way that the devil does not capitalize from these events, but that the it will be the gospel of the Prince of Peace that prevails through these, and all other such attempts by the forces of hell to destroy men. Pray that many are born-again for every life that was lost.

For practical matters, the WTC is the heart of our financial system. We took a bullet to the heart. We can survive it, but it is likely that we will be in "critical condition" for some time. It may be days before we understand the degree to which this has impacted the financial system. Many banks, brokerage houses, and other businesses that are the heart and nervous system of our nation as well as many others were located in the WTC or nearby. The degree to which the records of accounts, stock ownership, etc., was lost, or will take time to recover from backups, may take a while to sort out. Even if most of these records were kept elsewhere, to just get some of these financial institutions going again after losing their headquarters, with all of the leaders and managers, could take a while.

Myself, and some of my prophetic friends, have been shown terrorist attacks that would lead to marshal law in the U.S. for a time. Though I do not believe that these events today will be enough to do that, I do think that the escalation of our warfare against terrorists, and their desperate retaliations, could lead to that for a time. At the least, this was an act of war, and we are going into a war mentality until the war is over.

This will also give many people in the U.S. a profound understanding of what Israel has been going through for a long time now, and why they feel that they have to respond to terrorist attacks on their people with such force. The people who perpetrate these kinds of acts against innocent people are demonic. They will never respond to reason or rhetoric.

Did the Lord give anyone specific warnings about these attacks? I expect that he did, and those stories of Christians who did not get on those planes, or who did not go to work in those buildings today, may later become known. Even so, as tragic as these events have been, much more that are much worse will come upon us if the government does not wake up to the terrorist army that has been mobilized to disrupt the world. The intelligence services and armed forces of the world have not yet understood and focused on the true degree of this threat.

What should we do? Again, the main thing is that we abide in the Lord who is the Prince of Peace. We must walk in peace, and sow the peace of the Lord everywhere that we go. Remember that it is "the God of Peace" who crushes Satan under our feet (Romans 16:20). Again, pray for our leaders, and the leaders of the whole world. They need wisdom from above.

I will be seeking the Lord for more insight, and talking to other prophetic friends about what they are getting, and will post these on this web sight as soon as I can write them.

This November 1-3 we are re-convening our Fall Harvest Conference. This has traditionally been our most important platform for giving strategic prophetic words for the times, and this year may be the most important yet. Several major words are weighing on us. The primary one that I have been hearing is"walking in the power of the age to come." If this is the time for that power to be released we are near the beginning of the last day ministry in which the most extraordinary works of all will be released on the earth.

The "power of the age to come" is walking in the power of the Lord Jesus ruling upon the earth. Before the end of this age the entire earth will hear the gospel of His kingdom, as the Lord declared in Matthew 24:14, "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come." This gospel will not just go out in words. As the apostle Paul stated in I Corinthians 2:4-5 & 4:20:

And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

that your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

For the kingdom of God does not consist in words, but in power.

We cannot be witnesses of the Almighty God without power. At the end, when the greatest darkness is covering the earth, the greatest power and glory of the Lord will be poured out upon His people (Isaiah 60:1-2). The power that I saw coming at our Harvest Conference was the power to move mountains.

This does not mean that we are going to go forth and start rearranging the Appalachian mountains, but we will be given authority to move even the greatest obstacles out of our way. This is the word of the Lord that was given in Zechariah 4:6-7:

Then he answered and said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts.

'What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel {you will become} a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'"

The time is coming when some will move literal mountains. However, the one that Zerubbabel was standing before is one that the church is now standing before-it is the mountain of rubble that are the remains of God's temple that has been laid waste when His people were carried into bondage. There is a remnant that is returning to rebuild His dwelling place on the earth, and they will face the rubble that Christianity has become throughout much of the earth. They too will move this mountain with shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"

What has seemed to many to be the impossible task of restoring true apostolic Christianity to the earth is about to become a reality. However, as the Lord told Zerubbabel, it will not be by might, or by power, but by His Spirit. It will not come through human strategies, or just good business or management principles. It will come with the power of the age to come to demonstrate the authority of the King over all authority and power and dominion.

Just as He also promised this remnant concerning the restored temple in

Haggai 2:9, 'The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts, and in this place I shall give peace." The church is about to be restored to its apostolic glory and power, and the presence of the Lord will dwell in her. The glory of the Lord will then so fill His temple that no flesh will be able to stand to minister there. This temple is His people! It is you and I!

We may now look at our lives and think that there are just too many obstacles, just too many mountains to overcome. It does not matter how big the obstacles are, the Lord is about to release His power to turn every one of them into a plain before us. Start now declaring to the mountains in your life-"grace, grace, mountain be gone!" Say to relational problems, "Grace, grace, mountain become a plain!" Say to the obstacles at home, at work, at church, mountain be removed!" Say to fear, say to lust, say to debt, "Grace, grace, mountain begone!" It does not matter how big they are, before Him they are small! Before the power of the Lord that He has entrusted to us by His Holy Spirit there is no problem too big, or barrier that He cannot move. Believe in Him.

Sept.12, 2001 - 11:00am

Because these terrible terrorists attacks came on September 11, which is 9/11, I felt to look up Revelation 9:11,

"They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon."

Abaddon means "destroying angel," and Apollyon means basically the same, "destroyer." Both are believed to refer to Satan himself. Though it may seem obvious that yesterday's work was that of the devil, Satan is sometimes referred by different names such as those above which refer to the specific work he is seeking to do in a matter. For example, when he comes as "the deceiver" he is not so much trying to destroy as deceive. When he comes as "the accuser" it is because he is trying to stir up accusations against God or His people.

 Now it may seem obvious that yesterday's attacks were intended to destroy, but destroy what? Satan went right for the heart and nervous system of our economic system, and our military. If Satan is so intent on trying to destroy those institutions we should redouble our intercession for both of these. America has been sliding into a recession that seems to now be inevitable with yesterday's catastrophe, but if the enemy is so intent on attacking our economy we should pray fervently for a strong economic recovery. We must not let the enemy have a victory in this.

The second target of this attack was our military headquarters. Again, what the enemy is trying to destroy must have a purpose with God, so we should pray fervently for not only our military, but our government, which was likely the target of the fourth plane that crashed North of Washington. Whether we like it or not, it is the strength of the United States, both economically and militarily, that is presently keeping what peace and stability there is in the world. This is an obvious attempt of the devil to bring chaos on the world.

How can the enemy do this if God is not allowing it. The Lord allows many things that are not His will. As Psalm 115:16 declares, "The heavens are the heavens of the LORD; but the earth He has given to the sons of men." That is why the Lord will not do things on the earth until we pray even though He knows what we have need of. His people are His body on the earth, and it is what we bind on earth that is bound in heaven, and what we loose on earth that is loosed in heaven.

Again, let us redouble our prayer for our country, especially our economy, our military, and our government. I would like to especially ask this in relation to the next verse in Revelation (9:12), "The first woe is past; behold, two woes are still coming after these things." I did feel a strong impression from both of these verses, and I do believe that there are more terrorists attacks planned, probably two more major assaults just as this verse implies.

Just about everyone thought of how September 11 is also 911. This is an emergency. This has profoundly changed our world, though it will probably be some time before we realize just how much. However, this change that was intended for evil can be turned into good. We must pray for good to overcome evil, and that all that the evil one meant to destroy is only ultimately strengthened.

Two statistical factors about yesterday's terrorists attacks now standout. One is the remarkably low number of people on the flights that were hijacked. It has been quite a while since I was on a flight that was not packed, even over booked. This seems to have been grace even though it is understandable if that is hard to believe for those who lost their loved ones.

The second statistical factor is the low number of survivors who have been recovered in the first twenty-four hours from either the WTC or the Pentagon. They were expecting thousands at local hospitals in New York, and only a couple of hundred trickled in. This is good if it is because most people actually got out of the buildings. Because there seemed to not be many people coming to those hospitals looking for loved ones it may indeed be a good sign that the loss of life will be much less than some have projected.

Even so, many yet project thousands of casualties, and there is a potential that there will be tens of thousands. Let us keep in prayer those whose loved ones did not make it home last night. There are potentially many children who are now without parents, and multitudes of families that have suffered a most terrible loss. We must pray for the Comforter to come to everyone of them, and that many are born again for every soul that was lost in this tragedy.

This is an interesting excerpt from the August, 2001 newsletter dated August 1, 2001, of the Last Trumpet Ministries, Pastor David J. Meyer:

Exactly one week ago, we returned from New York City, where we spent six days working for our Lord and Saviour in research and spiritual warfare. It was our eleventh trip to this city of spiritual Babylon, and one of our reasons for going was to go to the United Nations, where meetings were to be held to plan a strategy on how to completely disarm the "citizens" of all member nations. On Friday, July 6th, something happened to me that I will never forget. It is something that has happened few times in my ministry, and as we were sailing across New York Harbor on the Staten Island Ferry for Manhattan, the Almighty stunned me with an amazing vision. I was standing at the front of the ferry outside as we were approaching the Statue of Liberty. I looked at the statue and my eyes focused on the torch. This torch is a symbol of the Illuminati and is referred to by the conspirators as the "torch of Illuminism." After looking at the torch, I turned my eyes to the 13-mile island of Manhattan. There, in the distance were the twin towers of the World Trade Center rising a quarter of a mile high. The other sky-scrapers in the financial district of Southern Manhattan filled the narrow island. As I looked, I felt the Spirit of the Almighty come over me, and when He opened my eyes I saw massive flames of fire rising high into the sky as the entire island of Manhattan was engulfed in flames. The flames rose high above the buildings and pulsated with intensity. I could hear the horrifying screams of multitudes of people in the distance as the burning continued and intensified. Then, the vision ended as quickly as it began, and I stood there with tears filling my eyes as I realized what is coming upon this nation. I then heard a voice that seemed to come from inside of me saying, "Tell not the vision until you return." I do not pretend to know what it all means, but I do know that time is short and the end is near....

Chaos Before Pentecost

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." (Romans 8:18).

Even as in the days of Jesus when the mobs viciously killed an innocent Man and a "terrorist" named Saul of Tarsus made havoc of the church, it only set the stage for revival. The same mobs that once cried, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" Were the same masses that weeks later also cried out, "What must we do to be saved!?" It was pandemonium before Pentecost. Crowds rioted through Jerusalem, innocent people died, some were committed to prisons. "At that time there was a great persecution against the church..." (Acts 8:1). Yet it was in the aftershock of Jesus' death and the war against His followers that the greatest revival ensued.

It was post World War 2 that the Charismatic movement swept the church and a healing revival brought millions into the Kingdom of God. There is no comparison to what the Lord is about to do in this present point in history. A greater move of God will occur in conjunction with this tragedy. This only enhances and heightens the urgency to save souls. How many in this tragedy today were saved? How many had a personal witness of Jesus Christ at work? Or on the street to and from work, at the restaurant or at leisure? Only Heaven knows. But one critical point remains, we must at all cost preach the gospel in every place and see souls won to the Lord! That is the only true immunity to disaster or destruction. "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21).

"From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day." (Matt. 16:21). It was not until Jesus had suffered that He would be glorified. This same principle applies to His Church, "Even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps..." (1st Peter 2:21). It also through the fiery furnace of suffering that we will experience His glory and a nation wide revival that will harvest millions of souls.

"Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin...(1st Peter 4:1). This attack will create an atmosphere of national repentance. Repentance will inevitably lead to national revival. The persecution prior to Pentecost forced the early church into a state of emergency prayer that produced Pentecost. It also propagated a mass unifying of Christians that was not able to be achieved before the persecution and death of Jesus. In the same way this can only push the Church in a strategic place of unity and revival. The army of God is being prepared for unprecedented spiritual battle that will impact the nations and usher in the greatest harvest the earth has experienced to date.

"And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind..." (Acts 2:2). As suddenly as this tragedy has struck, is as sudden that the Lord will blow upon this country with revival power and glory. Prayer will take precedence and set the stage for a spiritual awakening. The "upper-room" or place of prayer in churches across the nation will take priority. Churches will be opened 24 hrs. a day to receive the influx of intercession. Denominations and factions of the church will finally find common ground as the standard of prayer is raised. The end result of this will be the Lord's promise to all those that have prayed through the centuries, "I will forgive their sin and heal their land..." (2nd Chronicles 7:14).

A great urgency for soul winning will sweep the nation. The pressing question of salvation will increase. "Is my neighbor saved?" Will be foremost on our minds. A revelation of life and death will enlighten the eyes of our understanding. We will become vigilant soul winners not accepting no for an answer. We will now understand the command, "Compel them to come in." A great harvest of life will result from these deaths. An army of soul winners will emerge from the ashes to possess the land. "And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name..." (Acts 5:41).

POPE CONDEMNS ATTACK ON TWIN TOWERS; PRAYS FOR VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES

Pope John Paul II condemned the "unspeakable horror" of the terror attacks in New York and Washington, saying Tuesday he was praying for the victims and their families.

"Commending the victims to almighty God's mercy, I implore his strength upon all involved in rescue efforts and in caring for the survivors," John Paul wrote in a letter to President Bush.

"I beg God to sustain you and the American people in this hour of suffering and trial."

The Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, dedicated its entire front page to the attacks, headlining its delayed afternoon editions "The madness of terror." It said the strikes were the work of "diabolic minds" intent on plunging humanity into an unimaginable climate of war.

The Vatican said the pope received constant updates on the attacks and was praying "for the eternal rest of the numerous victims and to give courage and comfort to their families."

"The Holy Father expresses his condemnation for this violence, which achieves nothing," a Vatican statement said.

America's Wake-up Call-Bill Koenig

The Alarm Goes Off

September 12, 2001

I have watched it happen over and over again the past five years. Since the beginning of our news ministry, many near tragedies have been avoided. It has no doubt been the restraining hand of the Lord that has kept these things from happening.

For example, I remember especially well all the concerns at the end of 1999 going into the year 2000:

There were State Department's warnings for Americans throughout the world. There was a terrorist stopped in Vancouver, Canada, trying to get in the United States. We found out earlier this year that one of his targets was the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and another was the Space Needle in Seattle. There was another alleged terrorist stopped at the Toronto border trying to get into the United States, and he had his sights on New York at New Year's. There was yet another stopped inside New York State. The Jordanian government arrested 13 people in Amman with plans to do great damage in Jerusalem. And the Pakistani government arrested terrorists with plans to blow up the U.S. Embassy in their country.

I was in Jerusalem on New Year's Eve of 1999, and I remember how tight the security was with many people expecting a major terror event at the Temple Mount or in Manger Square in Bethlehem. The world media had many people in town in preparation, but nothing happened on New Year's. Even Y2k fizzled out throughout the world. We have seen so many potential serious events come and go... until yesterday's 9-1-1 call, the U.S. National Day of Emergency.

This event in New York and Washington was different. It was a very tragic event on our shores, beyond comprehension. The word I heard the most during the day was "surreal."

But what stood out to me was how all these events appeared to have gone off so smoothly (excluding the downed plane in Pennsylvania). When you think about all the planning necessary to pull this horrible event off, the logistics that had to fit together, the selection of pilots to fly the planes into the buildings, and the eluding of security in three different airports, it is mind-boggling. And then they hit their targets right on. It also appears that these pilots were residents of the United States.

I live three miles from Reagan National Airport in Washington. I could smell the smoke from the Pentagon fire (four miles away). I saw a fighter jet escort a corporate jet all the way to the runway at the airport, making sure it didn't go another mile into the side of the Pentagon.

There were Pentagon employees and airline pilots and flight attendants walking along the bike trial south into town, instead of waiting for ground transportation at the airport or at the Pentagon. There were also military helicopters flying along the Potomac. It was an alarming sight.

Last night, I was at the White House for a press briefing with White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer before President Bush's message to the nation. There was a small group of us present. Ari, as usual, was his calm and collective self, but as you would imagine, you could tell that it had been a tough day. When asked about the President's attitude through all of this, he said that the President was very sad for the families, but that he remained steady, and resolute.

We heard about the wide range of emotions experienced by people throughout the country. There were many angry people, and there were many who were emotionally moved by today's events.

Why was yesterday different? Why did things go so smoothly for the terrorists? The question we should ask is not, "why us Lord?," but "what are you trying to show us?"

A Direct Hit

We have seen so many near misses, but yesterday was a direct hit on our nation's soul.

We have also learned that: as goes Israel, so goes the United States. Our dear Middle East ally is living in this type of terror daily. They are very near war, and it is not safe on their streets. Yesterday in the United States we received an enormous wake-up call for ourselves.

The loss of life was tragic. But so has been our nation's slaughter of 40 million unborn children.

The treatment of Israel, the apple of God's eye, has put them at the brink of war. The television networks in the last week made the conscious decision to increase the level of sex and profanity on television -- including allowing the use of the Lord's name in vain -- to compete with the cable television networks to whom they have been losing advertising revenues.

Materialism, covetousness, and entertainment obsession continues to rot our souls in this nation. However, the Lord now appears to be saying: "enough is enough."

A loving God judges out of his love. He has a standard, and He expects us to oblige. He is tired of the apostasy and the blasphemy in our nation. God deals with and measures sin, and at some point He says: "enough is enough." Then He deals with it. This is a wake-up call for America by the One who loves us.

God is not wringing his hands today, nor has He gone to sleep. No, He is in total control of each and every one of these circumstances.

We must remember that God owns us; He bought us at a dear price for Him. There are no hopes aside from Him. However, we have allowed man to direct our nation and our lives, not the Lord Almighty.

We have lost our direction to Him, and through His love for us; He is bringing us to the end of ourselves!

We hear about revival daily in our nation, but the only chance of "true revival" begins with judgment, then repentance, then revival and then a new awakening. There will not be a "feel good" revival. This will be a revival from the inside out. Our pride must go! We must die! And it will be painful as our flesh dies!

Everyone is looking for the peace that is only possible through our Lord, and that comes by being in the center of His heart and will. Don't walk by sight, but walk by faith. He is saying, "I am with you, and I am in you." And through our total submission to Him -- which is the mystery of life -- we will find that Jesus Christ is our only hope; nothing or nobody else will do.

Today, let's all pray for President George W. Bush, his family, his staff, and for those who lost their loved ones and friends in these terrorist tragedies. And let's pray for our nation that it would find its way back to Jesus Christ. He has been, He is, and He always will be our only hope!!!
