(09/24/2000)An Israeli minister warned U.S. policy-makers on Monday that the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians could lead to full-scale confrontation in the Middle East, dragging in Iran, Iraq and Syria. Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh also said that, because of the recent weeks of violence, any negotiated deal with the Palestinians would now have to include stronger security guarantees for the Israelis.

However, in this statement is another maybe not so obvious shift which may have prophetic significance. Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh said that, because of the recent weeks of violence, any negotiated deal with the Palestinians would now have to include stronger security guarantees for the Israelis. If this indeed becomes part of the ultimate resolution, then 1 Thes 5:3 is in view: "For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape."

The Pentagon reported today that large Iraqi troop movements have been detected in the direction of the Jordanian border have resulted in mass celebrations in many Palestinians towns and villages tonight. I myself watched as fireworks were set off in nearby Bethlehem an hour ago (at first I thought the booms were coming from something else). I did not understand why the Palestinians would be celebrating on what should be a somber evening for them. Then it was reported on Israel's two television channels that Palestinian stations which were not bombed earlier today are reporting that Saddam is on his way to destroy Israel and rescue them. Channel Two has been showing pictures of many people fleeing to the southern part of the Gaza Strip with their possessions on their car roofs--expecting imminent Iraqi rocket attacks on the Tel Aviv area just north of Gaza. While this seems extremely unlikely, it is possible that Saddam has done more than Western experts think to rebuild his missile arsenal in the two years that he has been able to operate without UN inspectors. Could it be that Arafat knows something we do not? I am not reporting this to alarm anyone, except to alarm you in prayer! Other news: PM Barak has confirmed that he is forming an emergency government and that Arafat is no longer considered a partner for peace. Israeli helicopters are again in action tonight in several locations, including Hebron and Nablus. Palestinian rioters have reportedly ransacked another Jewish synagogue tonight--this one an ancient one near the town of Jericho. Israelis are getting ready for Succot tomorrow evening--and at maybe some for the possibility that Saddam just might have another surprise for us after all. NOTE: Here is another report, from Arutz-7 in Israel; however, U.S. official pronouncements may or may not be truthful, so judge cautiously. IRAQI FORCES NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY U.S. intelligence sources indicated that Iraq was on its way to deploying an armored division of hundreds of tanks westward, towards the border with Jordan. Israel is the next country over from Jordan. The Americans believe that it is just a symbolic gesture of support for the Palestinians, as the division was moving with "no logistics supply line behind it." A senior American official told CNN, "It looks to be all diplomatic show." However, I would like to suggest that the troop movement might be, I repeat MIGHT BE, the preliminary staging for the Ezekiel 38 invasion of Israel. It is clear that we are on the verge of all out war in the Middle-East, Consider Syria's response to the activity in Israel as reported by ABC News: "Syrians expressed shock and anger on Friday at the world's muted response to Israeli military attacks against Palestinian civilians and the Palestinian Authority. "Leaders of the so-called world democracies including the United States and Europe only rushed to send envoys to the region when three Zionist soldiers were captured as prisoners of war over an Arab-occupied territory." The president stressed Syria"s firm support for the Palestinian Arab people in their legitimate struggle (against Israel) to regain their lands and rights... Israel's aggressive actions and threats are useless because Israel will be the loser in the end," Kourieh quoted Bashar as saying. ARABS URGED TO CUT TIES WITH ISRAEL The official daily al-Thawra urged Arab states to cut ties with Israel, stop all dealings with the Jewish state and provide financial and moral support to the Palestinians. (http://abcnews.go.com/wire/World/reuters20001013_897.html) ABC News also reported that about 10,000 protesters in Egypt called for war with Israel in a rally outside Cairo"s al-Azhar mosque on Friday. Jordan’s King Abdullah held crisis talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to discuss the violence. In Iraq, the state news agency INA said that more than half a million Iraqis had volunteered to fight with the Palestinians against Israeli troops. Oman, one of two Gulf Arab states with ties to Israel, said it was closing its trade office in Tel Aviv and the Israeli mission in Muscat in support of the Palestinians. The Arab world is clearly enflamed by Israel's action to carry out air attacks on Palestinian targets in the West Bank and Gaza Strip Thursday after a Palestinian mob lynched two Israeli soldiers in the town of Ramallah. ABC News Recounted the incident where the captured Israeli soldiers were killed. It shows the level of hatred that exists between the Arabs and Israel: "There had been signs that Israeli-Palestinian violence was waning earlier this week but it erupted anew when the Israeli reservists inadvertently made a wrong turn and ended up near the center of Ramallah, a flashpoint of fighting between Israeli troops and Palestinian rioters. The soldiers, traveling in a civilian car, were chased by Palestinians and taken to the Ramallah police station. Word of their presence quickly spread, and more than 1,000 Palestinians surged toward the police station. Palestinian forces tried to keep the mob at bay, but about 10 men broke through a second-floor window where the Israelis were held. The attackers soon emerged with blood-covered hands as the crowd roared with approval. The body of one of the Israeli soldiers was thrown into the street, and the second was dangled down by a rope, where the corpse was stomped and beaten with iron bars. From the window, young Palestinians shook their fists and flashed gleeful "V for victory" signs." In retaliatory strikes, Israeli combat helicopters fired missiles in the vicinity of Arafat’s headquarters in Gaza City and on other Palestinian infrastructure. By nightfall, Israeli tanks had circled Palestinian cities and the army had clamped an internal closure on the areas, preventing Arab residents from leaving their communities. Eight missiles were fired on a Palestinian police academy in Jericho after the centuries-old "Peace Upon Israel" synagogue there was burned. One reader alluded to what might happen if Israel responded to the burning of the synagogue, by destroying the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. Hate is running amok in the Holy land and this could indeed by the beginning of the Ezekiel 38 invasion of Israel, and in this author's opinion, judgement by God upon the United States of America. William Zambrano MD reported today that The Jewish Feast of Succos begins Friday night, October 13, 2000, and it CO-INCIDENTALY includes the reading of the Ezekiel 38 Text. The following commentary on this feast is via Rabbi Chaim Salenger: Every Succos we read the Ezekiel, Chapter 38 about the final confrontation at the end of days between Gog and the nation of Israel. How does Succos connect with Gog, Magog and the end of days? It is ironic to note that after the exodus from Egypt, while travelling in the desert, a place that offers absolutely no natural security or protection, the Jewish people experienced their greatest sense of true security, protected from their enemies and entirely provided for by G-d. Every year, when the Jew leaves his home for a week to eat, sleep and live in a succah; an often flimsy structure with a roof made of bits of wood, reed, bamboo, etc., he actualizes this idea that ultimate care and protection come only from G-d. By virtue of the closeness to G-d he has achieved during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, he can now experience a sense of true security. The word "Gog" in Hebrew means roof. Modern man, divorced from a belief in G-d, deeply believes that a good job, a big bank account, a solid economy, a high tech army, in short, a strong solid "roof over his head," is the source of true security. These two world views cannot co-exist forever. We are told by the prophets that armageddon is inevitable, a final confrontation that will witness the destruction of mankind's false faith. Succos teaches us that our apparently flimsy roofs will ultimately be triumphant over modern man's misguided sense of security." Is this a co-incidence? What will happen at this point in time only God knows, but God also has told us He would do nothing unless He first revealed it to His people the Prophets. Ezekiel 38 and 39 certainly has revealed what will happen and current events are leaning towards this confrontation, unless of course, the Antichrist, chooses this point in history to come forward as "the man of peace" with the solution to this apparently intractable situation. At a local church in Syracuse, N.Y., a visiting prophet (Ted Shuttlesworth), in the midst of ministering to people, stopped and declared: "If you will pray and seek My face, I will tell you whom to vote for in the coming election. If America elects the right President, then I will grant a short span of Grace, a few years, during which I will move. However, if My church refuses to pray and seek my face, my church will suffer, and the events that lead to one-world government will be greatly execrated." The next Day this email was received from Dutch Sheets: "Dear Intercessors and Friends: Pastor Dutch Sheets is a dear and trusted friend of mine. Above that, I believe he has a call to spearhead change in this nation. He called and visited with me Thursday. I could hear his heart, and from his heart I could hear the heartbeat of God. The Lord had released a prayer burden from heaven upon him for this great nation, the United States of America, for the changes and posterity of our future. I fully agree that we must press in. I pressed in one week in January this year, then three days in August. I asked the Lord when and if He would give me a call or urgency to press in immediately before the elections this year. After our conversation and receiving what Dutch wrote below, I know this is that extended call. Please read this carefully and move forward as the Spirit of God leads you. Blessings, Chuck Pierce" PRAYER ALERT FOR THIS NATION During our Wednesday night service on October 4, 2000, the Holy Spirit moved upon me with the greatest prayer burden I have ever experienced. It would be impossible for me to exaggerate the depth of the prayer burden I was given. This time of intense, overwhelming travail for our nation lasted for three and a half hours. During that time, I wept off and on harder than I even knew was possible. The Lord began to speak to my heart about the upcoming presidential election, which is the most critical in decades. There must be a turning in this nation toward righteousness, and this will only happen if God s man is elected into office. It is not so much that this man is now ready spiritually to take the nation where God wants, but rather that he has a heart upon which God can effectively move. I believe that if the election was held now, God s purposes would not be established. (I am not basing this on polls or debates, but solely on what the Lord revealed to me that night.) In fact, the results would be such that His purposes for this nation would be set back for many, many years possibly decades. During this intense time on Wednesday night, God led me to Daniel 10 where the account is given of great warfare in the heavenlies between the forces of darkness and light. He showed me that the outcome of the current battle regarding this election will be determined by the prayer of the Church. If there is enough prayer and fasting, God's person will be elected, righteousness will prevail and God s plan will be established. If there is not enough prayer, God s person will lose the election and the turning of this nation will be drastically delayed. I realize that what I am about to say could sound presumptuous, but I believe God witnessed to my heart that one of the greatest prayer efforts in the history of our nation must be mobilized immediately. The amount of prayer that would normally be done for the election is absolutely not enough. I have never before attempted something such as this, but after seeking confirmation from trusted national leaders in the Body of Christ, I believe the Holy Spirit earnestly desires that I issue an alert regarding the seriousness of this hour. I am asking for those who feel this warning is from the Lord to intensify their prayer efforts by doing several things: Incorporate significant amounts of prayer into church services. Perhaps turn some entire services (Wednesday nights, Sunday nights, even Sunday mornings) into times of intercession for this purpose. If not entire services, at least give major blocks of time to prayer. Additional prayer meetings, both day and evening, be orchestrated for this purpose. A national fast be held during the last 21 days before election day. (This would begin October 17th and continue through November 6th.) Prayer meetings on each of these 21 nights are needed. Daniel 2:21 states: He changes the times and the seasons, He removes kings and sets up kings, He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. This can and must happen. It will be realized, however, only if we heed this imperative call to intensified, fervent prayer. If you agree with the urgency of this message, please pass it on to your contacts and ask them to do the same. Let us unite in this cause and see God turn our nation back to Him. Ezekiel 38 still a Possibility as a result of this current Israeli-PLO conflict Israeli Prime Minister Barak said Saturday, October 7th, 2000, that if Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat did not quell the rioters by the end of Monday, he would consider the peace process dead and Israeli soldiers would crack down with even more force. This caused a furor among the Arab nations and once again coalesced support against Israel. For example, thousands of Syrians joined Monday for the sixth day in a massive march to express their anger over bloodshed in the Palestinian territories. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak urged Arabs to hold a summit quickly to discuss the Arab-Israeli conflict. Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdullah al-Khatib told Reuters. King Abdullah told Arafat by telephone on Sunday that he had the kingdom's full support "for the Palestinians against unjustified provocation." Even the United States, by abstaining on the vote, in essence gave tacit approval to a the U.N. Security Council resolution that condemns the "excessive use of force" against Palestinians. It indirectly blames Israeli opposition leader Ariel Sharon, for provoking the week-long rioting after his Sept. 28 visit to a shrine in Jerusalem's Old City, holy to both Muslims and Jews. One might note Genesis 12:3. In response to the furor, a spokesman for Barak says the deadline for peace has been extended Indefinitely. Then on Wed., Oct 11,2000, Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat ordered Marwan Barghouti, the secretary-general of the Tanzim paramilitary movement in the West Bank, to stop the severe violence against Israel in the territories. Senior IDF officers said this was the first time in the 12 days of the unrest that Arafat has issued a clear and direct cease-fire order. They said the relative calm that is prevailing in the territories shows that Arafat has the ability to control events fully. The cease-fire directive apparently came against the backdrop of the visit to the region by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and international pressure on the PA to calm the situation. Meanwhile, Syria, the key powerbroker in Lebanon, is continuing to be trouble for Israel. "There is no doubt that the hundreds of Palestinians who demonstrated Saturday morning, and also Hezbollah, which fired on Israeli positions and captured three Israeli soldiers, could not have acted without getting the green light from Syria," a western diplomat in Beirut said. "Lebanon had refused to deploy its army to the border with Israel. What has happened is perfect proof for Damascus to show that Syria can reduce or expand tension on Israel's northern border," the diplomat said, speaking on condition of anonymity. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak then demanded that Lebanon and Syria bring an "immediate halt" to hostilities on the Israel-Lebanon border. Barak delivered the same message to the Syrian government, it added. The statement was issued as violent confrontations raged in the region between the Shiite fundamentalist Hezbollah and the Israeli army. Hezbollah claimed that its guerrillas kidnapped several Israeli soldiers during the clashes. What is thought-provoking, in light of Genesis 12:3, is that the Middle East Newsline reported: "Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak is appealing to the United States for approval of a massive offensive against Lebanon and the Palestinian Authority. So far, the United States has appealed to Barak for more time. Israeli Cabinet ministers have urged Barak to launch massive attacks on Lebanon in retaliation for the Hizbullah capture of three Israeli soldiers. Although the immediate violence has calmed somewhat, what is brewing behind the scenes is of paramount importance to students of prophecy. John K. Cooley of ABC News reported that Saudi Arabia , whom has never been much of a combatant in past Arab-Israeli wars, but it has become one of Israel’s toughest critics in the current Palestinian-Israeli crisis. And now, it has become the first major Arab state to warn of possible action against the Jewish state. The warning, from Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz, as quoted by Saudi broadcasters, indicated that the kingdom [of Saudi Arabia] would "respond" if Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak carried out pledges to use force against Syria and Lebanon if border violence flares again. "Barak must think carefully," said Abdullah, who generally avoids political statements and weighs his public words carefully, "before taking the slightest intolerable step … and no one can imagine that the Saudi kingdom and the entire Arab-Islamic nation would remain still." Other Arab Countries have joined in Yemen’s leadership has publicly proposed sending weapons and armed volunteers to help the Palestinians. For the fourth day today, thousands of Kuwaitis and other Arabs marched in Kuwait City to protest normalization of ties with Israel by other Arab leaders, a theme heard throughout the Arab Gulf states. A key date to watch in October 21st and 22nd. All of the Arab monarchies, as well as Yemen, have agreed to attend an Arab summit on Oct. 21-22, possibly to be held in Cairo, to discuss the conflict. Please note that Iraq (Iran and Iraq is historically the Pershia named in the Ezekiel 38 Invasion), not invited to previous Arab summits since the Gulf war, was asked to this one. Other intelligence that has surfaced is that Sadam Hussein may pull his country's 2.5 Million barrels of oil off the world market to squeeze the West.
Let us also not lose sight of Isaiah 17 which tells us that in the future Damascus will be utterly and totally destroyed. If Israel should invade Lebenon, consider that as Lebenon's protector is Syria and Syria may respond against Israel militarily. If in the escalation that ensues, Damascus is nuked, that would definately cause a united Arab reponse, AKA, the Ezekiel 38 invasion of Israel.

On Monday, Oct 9,2000 Russia's top diplomats shuttled from the Balkans to the Middle East in a bid Monday to help bring resolution to Arab-Israeli conflict. Viktor Kremenyuk, deputy director of Moscow's USA-Canada Institute stated that: " that the minimum purpose of (President Vladimir) Putin is simply to demonstrate that there are things that cannot be done without Russia," Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov was due to travel to Gaza late Monday for a meeting with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and then on to Israel. Speaking Monday in Syria, Ivanov stated: "Russia has always supported the peace process. Our aim is to stop the violence, to prevent the escalation of tension and to analyze the situation in the locations where incidents have recently occurred." Prophetic Analysis: - Indeed! What novel approach will Russia bring to the peace table? Let's look at what God has to say on this subject: The events leading up to this invasion of Israel (as well as the cleanup after the battle) is described in Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39. And although the book of Ezekiel was written around 565 B.C., when we examine current events as they relate to Ezekiel's prophesy, it will seem that our target text is coming right out of today's newspapers -- a further demonstration that, on God's prophetic time clock, we are living in the last days. This military campaign described by Ezekiel involves nuclear weapons, judgment upon Magog (Russia), her allies, and judgment upon another nation "which lives in the safety of the far distant coast lands.'' EZE 38:1-2 "And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him.'' (Eze 38:1-2) "Set thy face against'' is a command to a prophet who is being instructed to denounce a nation or a people. In other words, Ezekiel was being told to deliver a prophecy against Gog of the land of Magog. To determine the identity of the nation Magog, we must recognize that God refers to lands, or countries, by the names of Noah's ancestors as set forth in "The Table of Nations'' (Genesis, chapter 10). The names of the countries in Ezekiel's prophesy are the names of Noah's sons and grandsons who settled in the areas now occupied by the modern nations of Eastern Europe, the Muslim republics of the C.I.S., Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Libya, Sudan and Ethiopia. Therefore, to identify which modern day countries Ezekiel is referring to, we need to
locate where, on today's map, these ancient peoples settled. Magog was the son of Japeth, a grandson of Noah, who settled in the vast area north of the Caucasus mountains. His descendants were the progenerators of the Russian peoples who later became known as the Scythians. The Scythians terrorized Asia, from the steeps of Russia to the Great Wall of China, from the tenth century through the sixth century B.C. The Great Wall of China was referred to by ancient Muslim writers as the "Great Wall of Al Magog.'' It was built to keep the Scythians out. The name "Caucasus'' means "Gog's Fort''. So Magog is that vast area north of the Caucasus Mountains which today comprises the
"Georgian'' state of Russia. Mikhail Gorbachov was born here. It should be noted that over twenty Jewish and Christian scholars associate Magog with Russia. For example, in the Talmud (L. Gensburg, 1889/58), Magog is the country of the White Huns (or southern Russia). Flavius Josephus, writing in the first century, also believed that Magog was connected to the Scythians, a people who lived north of the Black Sea in the area of the Caucasus Mountains (S.J. 1,6,25). However, to be certain there is no difficulty identifying Magog with Russia, God expounds on the identity of the nation against whom this prophesy is directed: "Set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.'' Meshech and Tubal were also Noah's grandsons. Meshech was the name of the tribe that eventually chose `Moscow' as its capital. Tubal was the name of the tribe that established `Tobolsk' as its capital city, which later became the capital of Siberia. It is interesting to note that The Revised Standard version of the Bible translates this verse as: "Set thy face against Gog of the land of Magog, of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal.'' In this case, the name `Rosh' is a proper name and is the root word from which we get the word Russia. William Kelly, in Notes on Ezekiel (pp. 192-193), says: "It is true that `Rosh,' when the context requires it to be a common appellative, means `head,' or `chief.' But it is this sense which in the present instance brings in confusion. There can be no doubt therefore that it must be taken as a proper name, and here not as a man as in Genesis 26:2, if the common reading stands, but as a race. This at once furnishes a suitable
sense, which is strengthened by the term which precedes it as well as by those that follow. Meshech and Tubal fix Rosh as meaning a Gentile name Rosh.'' Dr. Louis Bauman wrote in Russian Events in the Light of Biblical Prophesy, p. 24, that "Our Lord's own Bible, the Septuagint, speaks of `Gog' as `the prince of Rosh.' If modern lexicographers are consulted as to what nation now represents `Rosh,' nearly all of them, together with most expositors, say, Russia.'' But if this is not enough evidence, in Ezekiel 38:15, God tells us that Gog will come from his place in the far, or extreme, north. There is no other nation further north then Russia. It is no coincidence that if we consult a globe of the world and draw a line due north from Jerusalem that it intersects Moscow. Therefore, the land of Magog is equivalent to that area far to the north of Israel that we know today as Russia (including Central Asia), and Gog is Russia's leader. "And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.'' (Eze 38:1-2) In Daniel, Chapter 2, and throughout the Bible, we find that God exercises control over the rise and fall of nations. God only lets national sin go so far before bringing judgement. We see from the above verses that God is clearly in control, and Russia will be forced to participate in this military campaign. Russia may want to stay out of the conflict, as does the person who hires a hit man to do their dirty work. But whether Russia wishes to participate directly in this campaign, or just stand on the sidelines while the nations she has armed do the dirty work, is irrelevant. God will force Russia to participate because, as we find later in this chapter, God will judge Russia for touching "the apple of God's eye", the nation of Israel. Since 1917, Russia has killed 60 million innocent people -- including five million Jews and fifteen million Christians. The text indicates that before Russia is brought forth with its full army to join its Muslim allies (verses 5-6), she is first turned back (``And I will turn thee back''). Since the context of this passage appears to be a military operation, it is logical to assume that Russia is "turned back'' from some limited military engagement (limited is implied, because when Russia is brought forward, it is with her whole army). God initially forces Russia to be turned back, then "puts hooks into their jaws,'' drawing them into battle. "Hooks in thy jaw'' is a Biblical phrase similar to putting a bit into the mouth of a horse, meaning to control by force. "And then God will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.'' (Eze 38:4) THEREFORE, IT IS GOD HIMSELF THAT IS ORCHESTRATING THIS INVASION OF ISRAEL AS JUDGEMENT ON THE INVADING NATIONS. IT IS GOD THAT PLACES A HOOK IN THE JAW OF RUSSIA AND DRAWS THEM INTO THE BATTLE. It is evident that Russia is continuing to build its strategic alliance with Iran. This includes not only weapons, but nuclear power plant technology as well. Russia has supplied Iran with at least two nuclear power plants, is training nuclear technicians and is establishing a nuclear research facility. It is probable that Iran wants to obtain this technology to reprocess the enriched uranium in the nuclear bombs obtained from the Russian nuclear stockpile. Russia has re-armed Syria and is supplying arms to all Israel's enemies -- just as Ezekiel predicts. Furthermore (in addition to the Russian-Iranian Axis), Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan and Afghanistan have formed a strategic alliance with the twin goals of expulsing western influence in the Gulf and the destruction of Israel. Things are heating up for Israel. She is surrounded by radical Muslim nations dedicated to her destruction. Russia is arming and preparing these troops exactly as the Bible predicted. And the peace process although fraught with problems, has continued to go forward -- at least to this point. If we do get a peace treaty out of the current turmoil, remember that when achieved, it may in fact produce a false sense of security for Israel (as they cry out peace and safety….then sudden destruction will come upon them) or this may be the appointed time that that "Russia thinks an evil thought" (Ezekiel 38:10), and leads the radical Muslim nations in their ill-fated invasion of Israel. If they do invade at this point in history, what they will not anticipate is God's intervention in the course of human history. The result is catastrophic for the invaders, but will change life for all mankind. These events include nuclear weapons and an earthquake so large that it shakes the entire earth. But most important is that, during this time in history, God will once again pour out His Spirit on the House of Israel, showing His greatness and holiness, and making Himself known in the sight of many nations. "Then they will know that I am the LORD". (Eze 38:23) God will "once again, in a little while, shake the heavens and the earth, and the sea and the dry land; and I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts." (Haggai 2:6-7) God's righteous judgements are always redemptive. He does not desire that anyone perish, but that all come to repentance and everlasting life, but He is also not mocked and there is an appointed time of judgement when sin has reached its full. This invasion could now take place at almost any time. But whether it is this year or at a future date, either way, we are one step closer to eternity. To prepare for it, stay close to the Lord by purifying your heart and thoughts through the daily washing of the Word. Be careful not to forsake the Holy One of Israel. First of all, heartfelt thanks to the many who have written to say that you are praying for us at this difficult time. I recall several times during the Gulf War when I was physically exhausted and downcast, and yet somehow able to carry on. I and others here knew that it was the praying saints that were helping to carry us. God bless you for that. You are on the front-lines as well. As you must all realize by now, we are clearly heading for a major showdown, although President Clinton and others are trying to avert it, and might just succeed. Indeed, it is looking more and more like we may be on the threshold of the regional war against Jerusalem prophesied in Zechariah 12:2 (NOT the war involving the entire world spoken of in verse 3), or at least a mini-version of it. Of course, only God can say for sure. There could be several regional Islamic attempts to re-capture Jerusalem's Old City before the big bustup prophesied by Zechariah, and in Psalm 83, occurs. But one thing is clear: The ten day old Israeli-Palestinian crisis was significantly broadened yesterday to include Lebanon, Syria and, through the Hizbullah militia, Iran. Now Muslims are entering an anti-Israel frenzy in nuclear-armed Pakistan and other non-Arab Muslim countries, and even in New York. As I said in an earlier report, Saddam has also said he is eager to jump in and join attempts to "liberate Al-Aksa mosque" on the Temple Mount, and Palestinians in Jordan have been rioting to demand that King Abdullah break his father's peace accord with Israel and join the growing conflict. As some of you noted in e mails to me on Saturday, the escalating situation almost exactly mirrors the scenario I painted in my 1996 end-time novel, The End of Days. First, there is a breakdown of peace talks with Syria after the Syrian dictator turns down a very generous offer of peace that includes a near total withdrawal from the Golan Heights. Then, peace talks hit snags with the Palestinians, followed by internal Arab unrest. Meanwhile Hizbullah launches attacks along the northern border. The Israeli Prime Minister in my novel then bombs their positions in south Lebanon (as happened after Hizbullah attacked IDF positions yesterday), while warning Syria that it must reign in its ally or face the immediate prospect of a significant Israeli response. This is virtually our current situation. The only difference from my novel is that instead of Israel responding in Lebanon after the deaths of civilians by rocket fire (although that may still come), Barak is massing troops along the border this morning following the outrageous kidnapping on Saturday of three IDF soldiers--taken from INSIDE Israeli territory. This has angered everyone in Israel, including leftist peaceniks. As the Palestinians are doing every day, Hizbullah PROVOKED the shooting along the border fence that left two Palestinians dead, which was then used as a pretext for the Hizbullah attack. Hizbullah has been using buses (!!) to bring Lebanese-based Palestinians to the border to hurl rocks and firebombs at IDF soldiers. When two were killed during intense rioting, they used it as an excuse to attack IDF positions and kidnap soldiers. This reflects the current Palestinian method as well -- shoot at IDF forces from inside crowds of usually young Palestinian "stonethrowers," knowing that some of them will be wounded and a few killed in the response, then use their deaths and funerals to further inflame passions and ratchet up the violence. If the Palestinians are in a tizzy, the Israeli public, including Shimon Peres and other peace process sponsors, are finally reaching their limit. We had an Israeli civilian assault on a mosque in Tiberius across from the Galilee Experience last night--showing that many young Israelis are ready to fight as well (Muslims have recently been demanding that the mosque, closed in 1948, be reopened). One Christian friend of mine from Norway had a bullet fly through her window the other night in the Jerusalem Gilo neighborhood. Thank God she was not hurt. Another friend from America had a bullet whiz past his head near his home. Such things are occurring all over the place. Roads are impassable due to such fire, along with frequent rock and Petrol bomb attacks. Yet Arafat has said not one word to try and halt the violence, although he did reign in his armed "police" force a bit after meeting with Madeleine Albright in Paris on Wednesday. Now, Barak has given him until Monday night to either completely end the violence or face "severe consequences." Monday night just happens to be the end of the annual Yom Kippur fast. As expected, Arafat responded harshly to Barak's ultimatum, and armed attacks escalated overnight upon the Jewish community in Hebron and elsewhere, prompting IDF helicopters to go into action for the first time there. Clashes occurred in many other places as well--far too many to detail here. Some of you may recall that I have been saying for several years that the Oslo process would undoubtedly collapse over the issue of Jerusalem (indeed I wrote that in my other book). Of course, many others--especially those who read their Bibles--have been saying this as well. I said this breakdown would probably be followed by a new Palestinian uprising--this time involving lots of light weapons fire. With the situation far more dangerous than during the original uprising, Israel, I said, would be forced to respond with tanks and helicopter gunships (tanks were used for the first time overnight to destroy Palestinian shooting positions in the Gaza Strip after an Israeli bus carrying customs workers to the Gaza airport was attacked, leaving one Israeli seriously injured). Televised pictures of Israeli actions would strike many as "very unfair," with obviously heavily armed Israelis "attacking stone-throwing" Palestinian children. This, I said, is exactly the impression Arafat would desire, prompting him to call for "help" from other Arab states. Stay tuned for that, although he has already basically made that call in recent months, urging Muslims everywhere to support his "sacred struggle" to secure total control over the Temple Mount. Like Saddam before him, Arafat knows this is an extremely popular cause in the Islamic world. So where are we at today? Many Israeli men began receiving military call up orders yesterday (this has not been publicized of course, but I know men who have already left for their bases, including a friend I was supposed to have dinner with last evening). Tanks were deployed overnight in several Jerusalem suburbs--issuing a shocking wake-up call to any Israelis that doubted we are in the midst of a major crisis. We have a full day of fasting and prayer ahead of us from sundown this evening (although I will be on duty the entire time for CBS, which will give my stressed-out Israeli Messianic colleague a chance to get a much-needed break with his family). Then it will end, and we will have Barak's assessment of Arafat's response to his ultimatum, and Hizbullah-Lebanon-Syria's response to his demand that the captured IDF soldiers be released forthwith. Since Hizbullah is not about to free them, and Arafat either won't or can't stop the Palestinian violence (it doesn't matter which is really the case, since Israel has no reliable peace partner either way), we will be on the road to war. How quickly it will start and how big it will get, only God knows. There is, as I already said, a chance that Bill Clinton and/or others will somehow be able to defuse the crisis, but don't bet on it at this point. We will undoubtedly only see a peaceful diffusion if Arafat and Bashir Assad look at what is facing them, and blink. But even if they do, we will get back to this same point sooner or later. The bottom line is still this: Millions in the Muslim world want Israel out of the Middle East, and they won't really rest until that is accomplished. There is so much more to say, but time does not permit. It is difficult being in such a situation, but good to remember that the ancient Jewish prophets said the city I call home would become "a cup of trembling" in the last days, and so it is. God is watching over his people. Still, knowing that does not wipe out natural emotions when one sits with a group of Israelis--as I did briefly during a short break last evening--knowing that most of the men at least will probably soon be in uniform and on their way to a warfront (one friend, as I said above, was already on his way). Of course, many Israeli neighborhoods are also warfronts now, certainly those here in Jerusalem. And with strategic missiles positioned all over the region, no spot is really immune from being suddenly swept up in the violence. On behalf of myself and all of us living here in the Lord's land, thanks again so very much for your prayers and encouragement's at this critical time. This is prophetically significant since Libya is one of the nations mentioned specifically in the Ezekial 38

On Wed., October 5, 2000, President Clinton declared four Florida counties disaster areas in the wake of torrential downpours that flooded southeastern Florida with up to 18 inches of rain, closing schools and businesses. "This was a total surprise," said Magdalena Martinez of Miami. "It just wasn't normal." Many Miami neighborhoods were under several feet of water and cars struggled to pass through submerged intersections where the water was high enough to reach the engine blocks, stalling a number of vehicles. Catfish were reported swimming in some apartments in Opa-locka. The storm dumped at least 11 inches of rain on Miami-Dade County and the airport got 15.3 inches in 36 hours, the National Weather Service said. Farther up the coast, Broward County received more than 8 inches. But little rain fell in drought-stricken central and northern Florida where it could be used, the weather service said. Alternating drought and excessive rain is another sign of God's judgment. God says, through the prophet Amos: "......you have not returned to me, declares the Lord. I also withheld rain from you when the harvest was still three months away. I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another. One field had rain; another had none and dried up. People staggered from town to town for water but did not get enough to drink, yet you have not returned to me, declares the Lord." (Amos 4:6-8) This speaks clearly of God's judgment on America. Amos 4:7 has been fulfilled. "One field had rain; another had none." Notice two things in this passage of scripture. Number one, God caused this situation by His own word. And number two, this passage demonstrates the purpose of the judgment: that being repentance ("... you have not returned to me, declares the Lord").

Massive Earthquake strikes Japan!
On Friday, October 6th, 2000, Japan’s strongest earthquake in five years struck western Japan injuring at least 12 people, destroying around two dozen homes. The important thing to note is that the earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale and was the strongest quake since the devastating Kobe on January 17, 1995, which killed more than 6,000 people
This was a "God's signature quake" as it was a massive quake, but took little or no human life. It's epicenter was six miles underground in. The quake was mercifully located in a largely rural western area, but it caused buildings to sway and was felt in Tokyo over 300 miles a way.
"I’ve never experienced such a strong earthquake in my life," said one woman in Yonago."

NASA has reported that the record-sized hole has now grown to 11.4 million square miles and has covered the southern Chilean city of Punta Arenas exposing its 150,000 residents to very high levels of ultra violet radiation. Too much UV radiation can cause skin cancer and destroy tiny plants at the beginning of the food chain. It is felt that segments separating from the hole could affect Argentina and even the tip of South Africa, Australia or New Zealand.

On Tuesday, September 19, 2000, Israel has called an indefinite "timeout" in peace talks with the

The London Telegraph reported on Saturday that Gaddafi of Libya has taken delivery of North Korean
ballistic missiles capable of hitting targets in Israel as well as NATO states in southern Europe. Under the
terms of the deal negotiated between Tripoli and Pyongyang, the North Koreans have agreed to supply
Libya with 50 ballistic missile systems and seven launchers. The No Dong, which is similar to the Scud
missile the Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein used to attack Israel during the Gulf war, can carry either
conventional, nuclear or chemical weapons warheads.
