MOSCOW AIRLIFTING DEFENSE SYSTEMS TO BAGHDAD March 5, 2001
DEBKAfile reports "Russia and Iraqi are working intensely in the last few days to accelerate substantial deliveries to Baghdad of SA-6 anti-air missiles and advanced radar, according to DEBKAfile’s military sources. So as not to draw Washington’s ire, the Russians are redirecting supplies via military bases in Belarus and on to civilian airliners flying out of Minsk to Baghdad. The Belarus president, Alexander Lushenko, a tough USSR-style dictator, is radically anti-American and close to Russian president Vladimir Putin. Under their military pact, Russia maintains part of its nuclear weapons stocks in Belarus. To speed up supplies, Saddam Hussein in the last fortnight posted a large military delegation led by Brigadier Saadi Subhi at the Iraqi embassy in Moscow and another, headed by Col. Aedil Hadida, a military engineer specializing in air defenses, in Minsk.
Our military sources add that a large group of Russian intelligence officers dressed as civilians has arrived in Baghdad to train Iraqi intelligence officers. They are agents of the SVR, successor to the KGB’s counterintelligence arm, the First Chief Directorate. These largely concealed movements are symptoms of rising US-Iraqi tensions since the American air raid over Baghdad on Feb. 16…"

"...there appears to be little optimism that war can now be averted in the Middle East."
"...there is evidence that the Palestinian Authority itself may be anticipating war. According to a recent statement of the Palestinian
Ministry of Information: 'Sharon is not a man of peace, he never was and never will be. Hence the Palestinian people, leadership, the neighbouring Arab countries and the world must brace themselves for the catastrophic war Sharon is starting now."'
"In Israel there is certainly evidence that preparations for possible attack are currently being made. Local intelligence reports indicate that the deployment of US Patriot missiles in the Negev last week...The Israeli Defense Force has also been holding exercises..."

The Israeli army moved tank and armored infantry units into "A Areas" under Palestinian jurisdiction of the Gaza Strip and West Bank. A senior Israeli military source informed DEBKAfile: "IDF forces are taking up tank positionsin accordance with operational requirements. Senior military sources issued over Israeli broadcast media Monday night a series of suggestive statements, such as: "The Palestinians must understand that there is a territorial price for their confrontation' and: "In the Gaza Strip the Palestinians have stockpiled large quantities of smuggled explosives and ammunition. That disclosure indicated that the Israeli army had already blown up dumps in various parts of the Gaza Strip. Another statement from a "senior military source maintained euphemistically that the Israeli army was "broadening the peripheries of the Gaza Strip settlements to augment the settlers, security. Not a single centimeter of settlement land can be given up. By last night, Israeli armored had advanced on Palestinian areas at the following points: In the West Bank - the Al Khader-Beit Sahur sector bordering on Bethlehem, the Bitunia sector bordering on Ramallah and the Tulcarm-Jenin sector in the north. In the Gaza Strip the Khan Yunis-Rafah sector opposite the Gush Katif settlement bloc in the south, the route linking Rafah to the Mediterranean coast to bisect the Gaza Strip; Gaza City's southern fringes opposite the Netzarim settlement. None of these actions met with resistance in their initial phase. The army has also begun calling up a fresh wave of reserves.

This is a very critical time for Israel right now. Please take your intercession to the throne room, as the Spirit leads.
--The A.Sharon government has successfully formed. When Sharon officially takes office, the Palestinian terrorists have promised to break out in major terrorist bombings and activities within the green line (within the Jewish territories). Jerusalem will be a main target. At least 10 suicide bombers have pledged to blow themselves up in public Jewish areas to create massive death and destruction for the PA cause. Pray that all security personnel will be supernaturally alerted to the threats before they arise. Pray that explosives will detonate prematurely before entering the target areas. Pray for failure in the cell phones, etc., that would be used to trigger the detonations, so that they never detonate in the populated areas. Pray for skill in dismantling discovered bombs, on the part of the bomb squads. Pray protection on the Jewish people, and upon all believers, intercessors, etc., whether Jewish or Gentile. Pray comfort upon those families who lost loved ones to terrorist bombings in the last couple of days, and weeks.
--There continues to be strong intelligence indications of a Mideast war coming this spring. Weapons of mass destruction have been confirmed to be in the hands of Iran, Iraq, Syria etc. Pray for the Lord's hand to intervene. If this isn't the time for a war, pray that He will shut it down. Pray for preparation and wisdom on the part of the leadership of Israel, as well as on the citizens. Conflict appears to be a certainty, even if it is not a full blown regional war. Therefore pray for military strategy, forewarnings, supernatural protection, and adequate supply for Jewish forces. The Lord of Hosts must be the commander of the military and governmental forces.....pray in His authority to rule. Pray favor of the Lord upon His people. Pray that the god of Islam be utterly humiliated in any military engagement, and that great glory and revelation of the God of Israel be seen in the Land and internationally. Pray for perfect positioning of all believers within the Land. Pray for courage, protection, and discernment. Pray that the gospel will prosper in the time of trial...that the people of Israel will cry out to their God. Pray that the glory and the credit for victory will go to Him.
--The new government in Israel has turned the authority of the Dept. of the Interior back over to the Shas party. This is very bad news. The Shas is the viciously anti-Messianic, ultra-orthodox party, which manipulates situations and sells its influence in order to gain power. This ungodly use of power is a blight on the government. Compromising with this party in order to form a working govenment may be very costly, as moral high ground is put increasingly at a distance. Pray for supernatural revelation and visitation of the Messiah, to come to the members of this group. Pray that they will turn to righteousness, and even become the leading voice in calling the Messianic Jews to their citizenship...rather than persecuting them. Pray in some Damascus Road experiences on their key leadership. Protect the Messianic Jews in process for citizenship, and pray an increase in the number that apply and succeed in the process.
--As the tensions in the Mideast increase, pray that the USA will stand firmly with Israel. Pray that our leaders in this country will not yield to the pressure of Arab threats of oil embargoes etc. Pray that terrorism against America be held back. If military engagement is necessary, pray that we will take up the defense of Israel, regardless of NATO, the UN etc.
--Pray protection upon Bush and Cheny, and all the leaders of this nation. Put up a wall against the incoming curses, assassination attempts etc. Pray wise and holy counsel be given to our leaders, and that it be received. Let unholy counsel be rejected. Pray dreams and visions upon our leaders from the Spirit of God.

Mom,
It has been very hard getting over this last bombing. Especially for the country. All the accounts were just gruesome. We didn't like to read them but we felt like we had too. What made things even worse, the people in Netanya turned on the other Palestinians in the city. One man was badly beaten and the police had to hold back some Israelis from lynching a Palestinian begger. It is a very sad state of things here. The police and military preasence has been stepped up tremendously all over the country.
At 8 o'clock this morning, there were mounted policeman patrolling the park. They were stopping everyone asking for ID. I even got stopped. It is incredible. The whole country has basically gone into full alert. I am sharing this with you trusting you will share it with your discernment. It would severely frighten some people if it was shared with them. I am doing fine and the Lord is continuing to work. I am just praying that things will cool down before Ian gets here. I don't want him to have to be here during everything that is happening.

Are your lamps filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit as a witness to a lost and dying world or will you be left behind only to ultimately be denied access to the Wedding Supper of the Lamb and eternity in heaven.
Your eternal destiny hangs in the balance. Therefore, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Do all things without murmuring and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

Purify yourselves daily by the reading of the Word. Jesus is returning for a Holy and Spotless Church. ``Today is the day of salvation for many who are perishing; their tomorrow shall not see my return in glory to judge the living and the dead. Today is the day of their salvation." Don't delay. Time is short. You have no guarantee that you will even see tomorrow. If you die without receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your eternal destiny is fixed.
``It is now the hour to awake from sleep, for our salvation is closer than when we first accepted the faith.'' (Rom 13:11)
As we see the signs of His return drawing close, what manner of holy life should we be living? Remember that Jesus is returning for a Holy and Spotless Bride. Whether His return is today or 10 years from now is irrelevant since eternity is only a heart beat away for any of us. So choose this day whom you will serve, ask the Holy Spirit to search you to see if there be any iniquity in you, and then call upon Jesus your Deliverer. He is faithful for forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unfaithfulness.
"Watch and pray, therefore, that you would be counted worthy to escape the judgment that is coming upon the earth and be able to stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:36).
